To me, skinny is always better for a Pop Star. Didn't Taylor's mom tell her, "Nobody likes a fat Pop Star."....? Everybody notices when a chick gets fat. Everybody knows skinny is healthier. Can't argue with reality. Flame away.

It depends thooooough. I've been skinny my whole life and I'm ill atm (yes so not healthy) but it's causing me to put on weight because of how restricted my diet is. Does it mean my diet is unhealthy? No, I'm just limited and can't exercise. Avril might have been busy and so not had time to keep active, she might be tired and not getting around to cooking often. It could be her meds. What I'm saying is that a temporary weight gain is no big deal, and it's not like she's even big on these photos. Could be a mix of a little weight gain (plus she's short so weight gain will show more obviously on her) and a bad angle/photo. It's not like she's jumped dress sizes, she's just a lil porkier. If she starts piling it on then maybe that's a problem. Give the gal a break. (she's obv pregnant )

Get rid of those extensions Avril and get a haircut , we like shorter natural hair !! Long hair is not suitable when you gain some weight also!!!

Can't argue with reality. Flame away. I've always been pretty skinny but now that I'm in my 20s I've put on a bit of weight, I definitely look healthier and my diet is way healthier... I was skinny for health problems, so being skinny is not always healthy... Tbh I think that being slim and fit is healthy, not skinny... but I guess that's only my personal opinion

I didn't like her being so skinny like a skeleton. She's always been pretty skinny, but in 2007 & 2011 it was shocking. She looked like she was on drugs or something. In 2010 & 2013 she was chubbier and she looked better. Now she's in her mid 30's, she's not 22 anymore. She wasn't touring for a while. She lived a calmer life than before. And she looks damn great. Look at her waist line! How beautiful she is with these curves! And that booty is a killer for sure

Being healthy has hardly anything to do with size one way or the other. Depends on the person’s natural body type. For Avril, she’s always leaned towards being thin in general. As long as she is eating well and exercising or being active and she feels good, happy, that’s healthy. The weight itself doesn’t factor much into it unless she is extremely underweight or overweight. She has also historically always put on a few pounds when she is in between albums because she has more time to eat and hang out, whereas on the road she loses weight probably because she’s busy or eats less/healthier. So this isn’t anything new for her.
Slightly off topic but I’ve always been extremely thin because I have a growth related disorder. Lately my diet has been pretty crap and I haven’t been exercising a lot. No one would say that I’m healthy based on those facts just because I’m thin. Meanwhile a larger person may eat pretty well and exercise daily but they just happen to have a larger body type naturally. “Healthy” means different things to different people.

All of your guys replies are valid. The medical world uses BMI (body mass index) to access a persons health as a function of weight (mass or density). All things being equal (all other factors acknowledged and offset into the equation) the lower the number the healthier you are using all the metrics they measure. Lean and mean. Haha. That’s all I’m saying. Thunder thighs ain’t healthy on no one, Kim K be damned.

That will vary from person to person though. And that’s the ratio of how much fat you have. The ratio is different for everyone depending on several factors like age, height, and gender. The mindset that “skinny is healthy” and a low number on a scale is what everyone should strive for is very dangerous and is one of the reasons people develop eating disorders because they think they have to be skinny. The reality is that some people will actually never be thin if they’re naturally big boned. That’s why you can’t really generalize because everyone is different and what is a healthy weight and fat ratio is different for everyone. Medical issues also play a big role in it. Some people may have a health condition that causes them to lose or gain weight or restricts their diet or exercise.
IMO these days everyone just overcomplicates it. It’s simple. Eat fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins with a little dairy if you can, drink plenty of water, cut down on junk food, do deliberate exercise of some kind for 30-60 minutes 3-6 times a week, get plenty of rest, try to reduce stress with yoga or other activities you enjoy. Nourishing your body with whole foods, staying hydrated, being physically active, and giving your body what it needs matters more than any number on a scale ever will.

I've always been very thin, too, no matter how much I eat (and I can eat A LOT). And since I've been about 12 years old or so, my body kinda stopped changing, or at least it changes extremely slowly since then, so that now I still have the body of a young teenager, even though I'm actually nearly 21. Hence, I easily weigh less than 10 kg a person my age and size should, and my BMI always tells me that I'm extremely underweight and unhealthy, even though I'm not. I feel fine and I eat well. Alright, I hardly exercise at all, but I'm still definitely not weak, I even have quite some good abs. But looking at me, you might say I'm critically thin and unhealthy. And 12 years old. My sister's even a bit thinner than I am. When she was younger, she had some idiots telling her she's anorexic, which imo is not only offensive towards her but also towards people who really do suffer from anorexia. If I remember correctly, back in the 2000s it was "in" to be thin. And everyone who wasn't thin was ugly. I have the feeling that now, in the 2010s, with people like Kim Kardashian and songs like "All About That Bass" it's a bit different. People with curves get celebrated, which is great, but thin people, like me and my sister, get hassled for being too thin, even though there's seriously nothing we can do about it (and we're not photoshopped either!). Why do people always have to go from one extreme to the other? Why can't society just appreciate both the naturally pudgy and the naturally thin people?

^ Same here. Due to my condition, I had people in the past tell me I looked anorexic and my teacher in school when I was very little even told my mom she didn't think my mom was feeding me enough. Throw out an accusation like that nowadays and that kid will be taken into foster care. People are just very ignorant a lot of the time when it comes to health and they think it's only about how you look. Health is how you feel, not just how you look. How you look is a factor, yes. But it's about feeling good too. Like Tamy, I am very thin to the point some might think I'm anorexic, but I'm not. I eat desserts like it's my job lol At the end of the day, health and weight is between you and your doctor and no one can really judge anything from a few pics.

I can tell this is a sensitive topic but I bet if you ask Avy if she could lose 10-15 in the ass she be like “Hell the Fuck Yeah!” And that explains it all. Ha

I think she looks awful... not because of her size, but because she still thinks she’s 21 🙄 The print on those pants is garbage (I do like the bones though), another black hoodie (🙄), and the LOOONG straight blonde hair has been tired for years now. She can look however she wants, it’s her life and she should be happy, but this is what meth addicts look like when they go steal shit at Walmart 🙄 I just think taking care of your appearance, even with a fresh face and minimal makeup, can make you look like a thousand bucks (Avril circa 2005)! Not saying you should go grocery shopping in a ballgown, but a blouse and cardigan are just as comfortable as a hoodie and look 1000x better 🤷🏿♀️ Her new stylist is failing her... she clearly dressed herself.

Avril is with Jenn again in her stories, she has extensions again, straight hair and polish in her nails, proabably something happened. Video shoot/photoshoot either for the album or magazine, or maybe just some event but yeah something was going on I got curious to see what Jenn was checking on YouTube, and also Avril has a “new” tattoo on her middle finger?! I don’t think that is the old one http://instagram.com/p/Bhxw3dEnxeI
