I'm so shocked! Been watching the BBC since 4 this morning, but I am very pleased with the result

Well this can go either way now.. It will cause a domino effect on the EU, or do nothing.
We have voted no to join since the beginning of the eu. And im quite happy we aren't in, but we have to follow about 80-90% of what is decided there. So we are keeping a arm and head out.
The only things on my mind, will big brother uk become even bigger, and the little brothers and sisters in the eu become even smaller? And will it take a better turn for cooperation between countries, now that it is so important. Or will "nationalism" grow stronger than diversity?

PM Cameron has just resigned and Farage has admitted that the claim we would spend the £350million we send to the EU every week on our own NHS was a "mistake"

Shame about Cameron but I agree he's not the one to negotiate our exit.
The EU will surely slowly fall apart after this, more countries will want referendums

Oh you guys....what have you done Note: This is just my personal opinion as a german and european citizen For me the EU is not just about trade, import, export - it's also a symbol for shared values and ideas, for freedom and supporting each other. This decision is a step forward for the nationalists and this will cause problems with topics that we all should work on together (climate change, immigration, defence politics etc.). I think the EU needs massive change and more transparency, but the idea behind it is something I strongly believe in. For the EU it's a great financial and 'symbolic' loss. And for UK it's a step forward into a wrong direction. On the other hand, the EU gave the UK so many extra-rights, they always had to be special and sometimes blocked the work of the EU. So maybe the EU will be able to work closer together with the remaining countries. I don't think Germany is going to have a vote like that anytime soon. But I'm worried about France and Netherlands, they could follow the UK. I also hope Scotland will be independent and join the EU

Wow, woke up shocked and a bit worried. But who knows what will happen and when, for now it stays the same I guess. I'm glad I don't need Euros for my holiday.

@stuntbrick great post. Donald Trump is so ignorant! I think his ignorance has no limits! If Trump goes with the "leave" option i know for sure that the best option was to "remain" inside the European Union. Top Gear (UK) Double Facepalm.

Nevermind trump - no matter what president the US would NEVER join an organisation like the EU. Obama coming over telling us to stay in something he'd never ever accept was laughable.

Why should the European Union want US ? If so we can have representatives from the EU in the senate.. that would be fun (i know the difference, but you get my drift)
