Ok, I just found these videos, which are supposed to be "demo" of some GL tracks without the original production of Max Martin/Shellback... Am I missing something? They were uploaded on 2012 in YouTube

These sound like really bad fan made remixes. The music doesn't even match the songs and it's obvious they took her original (autotuned) vocals and made their own tracks to it. Fake.

Clearly it sounds the maker tried to separate the vocal and the original instrumentals but failed lol Besides, Avril has emphasized many times that wanted the album to be raw. Those electronic guitar just doesn't make sense ~

SST & RW are clearly fake. ILY sounds like the album version with just a few differences WYWH sounds good without the drums in it but It's fake too because I think the original demo could sound like the acoustic version I couldn't here Smile

Damn, got me excited for some demos lol. Yea, these are all fake. I only listened to a bit of each, but yea these are definitely not real. Titles were just posted to try and get views. Smile you can hear the vocals are distorted because an official acapella was never released and it is hard to remove the sound of drums and guitars and still have a clean vocal stem, of which this "unreleased song" did not have. The others either just had some minor changes to the instrumental or the instrumental were too loud trying to distract from a bad diy acapella or cover up the original track.

Technically ALL of her stuff is "auto tuned". I put quotations because in the industry, they usually use melodyne which is a lot more natural sounding, and you have more control over the actual sound wave and timing. Yes, you can actually perfect the timing, too. All that is pretty much standard procedure, even if they have a producer that pushes the singer to be on beat and on pitch. They perfect it as much as they can pre production, then perfect it even more.

Well besides that, we know the Max Martin songs like WTH, WYWH, and ILY definitely used obvious auto tune. It makes it obvious when someone tries to use the original vocal stems to make a new remix, such as the acoustic versions on the deluxe edition or these bad fan made remixes here.

The crazy thing is, if you think the Max Martin singles are heavily auto tuned, AL5 as a whole blows those out of the water. Avril doesn't need that much fixing and yet they did a lot of it on AL5..,

AL was so wrong in many levels: abusive use of autotune , overproduction, glitches, and the production in at least BS, 17 and SoS seem poor demos. I hope we never see such lack of everything ever again.
Yet, the album was critically acclaimed. It surprises me they didn't seem to notice or care about the horrible auto tune and glitches in many of the songs. Most critics gave the album good reviews. I always think of this as the album critics loved but fans hated (or at least disliked)

That was a song I slept on for a while. Sippin on Sunshine could've been so much better with better vocal production on the verse, but that chorus just screamed summer fun! You are right though with the Max Martin bit. Obviously, some autotune, but not as noticeable. From what was noticeable in his songs, it was most the backing vocals that were autotuned, but that was done to enhance the vocal/add some flair, not trying to fix it to the point where it was workable. I think I remember Avril saying at first she was trying to impress Chad and would do extra takes to get it perfect, but after they were dating/engaged she said she was comfortable and when he would say to do another take she'd tell him no. I'm just hoping for some great production on this next album. Maybe we'll get the stripped down type of album she was trying for with GL this time around. I would love to have a track that is just one vocal and a piano/string or guitar. My example of this is always P!nk's Glitter in the Air or even to some degree Just Give Me a Reason. That's just one lead vocal track of both singers, with no or extremely little backing vocals. Like, an just piano and strings version on Innocence is a dream, although the backing vocals and harmonies on that sounds are heavenly as well.

Max/Shellbeck didn't work on Remember When or Stop Standing There. They only worked on What The Hell, I Love You, Wish You Were Here and Smile. The songs that were going to be singles. Butch worked on SST, and I doubt the production from what he did was much different. There are fanmade.
