Exclusive: the 'RHOBH' star says she is "so proud" the singer has gone public with her disease. Avril Lavigne made a courageous move on Wednesday by announcing to the world that she's been battling Lyme disease in recent months. The Canadian singer opened up about her health struggle to People, telling the magazine that she had been bedridden for five months before finally getting diagnosed with the condition. "I felt like I couldn't breathe, I couldn't talk and I couldn't move," she tells the magazine. "I thought I was dying." While Avril has had the support of her friends and family, one of Bravo's own has been helping her cope, too: Yolanda Foster, who also suffers from the disease. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star tells the Daily Dish that she offered the pop star emotional support recently. "I took Avril under my wing when she first got sick and shared all I know," Yolanda says. Now, as Avril struggles to get well, Yolanda is throwing her full support behind her.
"I am so proud of her for going public," says Yolanda, "and helping us bring awareness to this debilitating disease."Yolanda has had a long relationship with Avril. In fact, the singer performed at Yolanda's fairy-tale wedding to producer David Foster in 2011.For more information about Lyme disease, click here. [Source: People] New info is bolded. So it sounds like Yolanda has helped and is helping Avril with her illness. I love Yolanda on the Real Housewives and think she is a very nice, sweet, and caring person. I'm glad Avril has someone like her to help her through this. Source: www.bravotv.com/the-daily-dish/yolanda-foster-how-i-helped-avril-lavigne-cope-with-lyme
