I have learned how to play the guitar because of Avril, listening to her songs and watching her live performances... I was wondering if any of you has learned how to play the guitar because of her, like I did, or was I the only one?
PS: I'm not the best guitar player, I just do it for fun and my own enjoyment ahahah

Yea, I do/did. Well because of Avril and two other bands. "Everybody Hurts" was actually the first song I learned I'm not that good either tbh. In the moment I'm trying to learn IWY. I find it pretty difficult though My favorite song to play is MHE - it only has a few chords, but I still love it

I started playing guitar mid 90's, probably inspired by Bryan Adams and AC/DC

Yep My first song was Nobody's Home all those years ago haha. I'm still very basic despite playing for so long, because I play to de-stress before bed so I'm often too knackered to learn a new song. And my hands are tiny, it hurts to try and play a barre chord haha (I struggle to shuffle a deck of cards).

He always wanted me to play guitar so was really happy one day when I went to him to ask how to play Nobody's Home haha.

I started playing the piano when I was 6/7, because my aunt played it. When I finished Junior High, I abandoned it, because my teacher would only teach me classical music, and I didn't like it. Later on, I started learning to play Don't Tell Me, because I had a software on my PC where I could learn the tabs, and then I've learned to play MHE and Complicated by watching her playing them acoustically, and a couple of other songs ahah Later on I've got myself into drums as well, I taught myself how to play it as well I'm not great, because I've just taught myself how to play the guitar and the drums, but I find it's fun - I went a little bit off topic, I'm sorry but still I've learned how to play them because of Avril

Does Guitar Hero count? I don't know how to play any instrument but I found my brother's old guitar in the garage. Might take it out for a spin.

Yes I got a guitar because of her but I'm not very good. It's at my mums house I think. I want to pick it up again. My Dad brought it for me for my 16th birthday I think.
The first song I played it on it was Nirvana - Come as You Are it's really easy to play though..

I'm still learning some chords, and I'm not that good (I've been practicing for 6 months), but I can play Hot from Avril.

I started playing guitar mid 90's, probably inspired by Bryan Adams and AC/DC I rock out to Bryan Adams and AC/DC often. One of my all time favorite songs to play is 'Diana' by Bryan Adams. It wasn't widely released. So, many of his fans have never heard it. If you are one of them, let me know. I'll point you in the right direction. I hadn't heard it but managed to track it down on youtube, it's great! Such a shame it was only a B-Side!

I'm actually better at the piano/keyboard and singing (I'm a singer as hobbie, had over 3 years of singing classes. I jam in the studio with my brother during weekends), but the first song that I ever played at guitar was All The Things She Said by t.A.T.u., it's such an easy song.... I was 15 when I learned it haha At the guitar I can play Things I'll Never Say, Darlin', Nobody's Home, Fall To Pieces and Runaway, but I know some small parts of other songs. Of course Avril was a big influence for me musically, but not the only one, even though she was essential for me to create my musical identity. At the keyboard, I can play Innocence, WYG, Hush Hush and Slipped Away. Still can't play Together very well, it's hard to keep track of the rythm

I started teaching myself guitar when I was 14, partially because of Avril, but not the whole reason I started playing. My dad used to play guitar when he was a teenager and had one lying around the house, so one day I just picked it up and he saw I was interested in learning to play so he got me my own guitar for Christmas that year and a book that shows you how to play all the different chords. I started going online to try to find chords to songs I knew, websites like UltimateGuitar.com have just about any song you can think of, and so the first song I learned to play was Things I'll Never Say.
