I'm just guessing since that was around when she she met them? So maybe 2013-2014. It was definitely before she got sick though. I agree though. I love her voice!! She recorded Listen in late 2015 after her sickness. But she also recorded Trophy Boy when? Before or after she was sick? Of course with Shania, she could have had it much longer than Avril did without realizing it. Avril seemed to get to the bottom of it within like six months and started her treatment.

Moderators Note: Please use this thread and not the AL6 thread for the conversation about Avrils voice. Thank you Ok, so i see there is a conversation at the moment about Avrils voice. Has it been affected by her lyme disease? Has it been weakened or changed? Could we hear this in her first and only performance of Fly? Or for "Listen" ft One OK Rock? How do you think her voice has been changing over the past 15 years of her carrier?

I always wondered why they made her voice so mousey in the TBDT era.

I don't think Avril's voice will suffer any long term damage. She was diagnosed fairly quickly. It takes some people years to get a correct diagnosis.

I think she sounds ok in "Listen"? Perhaps her voice has matured even more since the last album, become deeper and more nuanced.

I don't think so... Shania seems to have suffered for around 2 years before getting diagnosed, while Avril only took around 5 months. And the disease affects differently each person, so Avril could have had totally different symptoms. And if it had affected, she wouldn't have sung on the Special Olympics in 2015 and neither joined Taylor Swift on stage on the same year. Plus... Shania was unable to sing for years, Avril wouldn't have recorded AL6 if her voice wasn't fully in shape. I think we shouldn't worry about her voice at all. We should, on the other hand start thinking about not having a world tour this time around, I don't think she's going to do a tour with over 50 concerts for example, but that's because of the fatigue that she presented as her main symptom back when the People Magazine and Billboard interviews came out.

If Fly and Listen were recorded after the illness, there should be no problems because her voice was great. Considering then, at least in my opinion, Avril live is even better than in studio version
