Hello everyone,
If you haven't already seen in the Gallery or Site update thread - the Gallery has been closed due to seeing very little use and a general overall lack of interest from members. The Gallery is paid annually out of the Staffs pocket; and upon seeing the low usage (10 hits a day) we made the decision not to renew the subscription this year. Because of this, the Gallery's contents will be deleted in just under 90 days (around 80 or so).
If we are to bring the Gallery back we'd like to see people using it regularly and we're making this thread in an attempt to try and gauge interest from members. Please be honest with your opinions about the gallery as again, it isn't a free service. Whilst we personally don't want to see the gallery go - and we put a lot of effort into it - we don't want to pay for something which is rarely if ever used.
If you are interested in retaining the gallery, please let us know here.

I don't think it's a problem you closed it. It used to be my favourite gallery back in the old site but since it was shut down I started to use avril.ru gallery and I got used to it so much that I usually check that out, I use bandaids only because of the awesome forum. To anyone who would like to browse a great gallery, check out the russian sitr, I think it's the best on the Internet  |

Maybe depending how much it costs those who are interested in using it could pool a fund so you guys don't have to pay for it all yourselves?
It would be a shame to lose the gallery permanently not to mention all the work that went into uploading those pics. Sometimes the gallery does come in handy.

I think the current issue with the gallery is that it had kinda become stagnant because there haven't been many new photos to add, except an occasional instagram post or whatever. I've trawled her galleries countless times and have seen most of the photos several times, so the only times I checked the gallery nowadays I was just looking for new stuff so jumped to the "new photos" page and that was that. Maybe if she becomes more active there will be more interest in having a gallery, with lots of new photoshoots, public appearances etc, but for just now, nah, not if folk are having to pay for it. ETA Funnily enough I only really logged in to see if there were any new gallery updates   |

That's a nice gesture, but if only two members care about keeping it alive then I don't feel comfortable with letting you pay for it. :/ Yes, maybe the gallery will be more appreciated when there's something new on there, but in the meantime the general vibe I'm getting from everyone is "meh". Bottom line is that there are other galleries, and it's not like our gallery has any exclusives and stuff. Were that the case, we wouldn't be having this conversation. |
