Has anyone any tips to hydrate the skin effectively without spending much money? Iv'e just ordered pure sheabutter and will try that out. Iv'e used accutane for a couple of months, 4 years ago and it dried the shit out of my face. I had oily skin before and it still hasn't got back to normal. The best thing is, that I still breakout. Dry, rough and flaky skin + breaktouts is like the best combination ever, especially if you are a guy who likes to wear a little bit of makeup (only if I go to a club) and it has to be invisble af Iv'e stopped using any skincare for a year now, because it doesn't do anything for my skin. It's scares me how the skin is not able to regenerate herself even after 4 years..I mean wtf?!

I mean, don’t rely on what I say, ´cause bruh, it’s the first time in like 10 years that I somehow have my skin slightly under control... as far as moisturizer goes, I‘d say try a drugstore brand. They are usually on the cheaper side and (depends on the person) can be a good help. If I remember correctly you live in Austria; you can get the Kamille Handcreme at any dm, Müller, Merkur, bipa etc. I do know it’s labelled as handcream but you can give it a shot anyway. For example I never use any of those lip balms, only put on a layer of that cream at night and in the morning I have soft lips. (got that tip from my mum). But if you do want to give that a shot, do it at night. As I said, it’s labelled as a handceam and quite heavy, unless you love to have a shimmery layer on your face... oh, and do wash your face in the morning. (a mild cleanser maybe) Hope it’s at least wortha shot

I just did a DIY of the white egg mask that I saw on youtube (to get rid of those blackheads) but it didn't work I made 2 layers and waited until it was very dry, but it didn't get rid of my blackheads.... disappointed as heck lol. I started asking myself "damn, are my blackheads too deep or something?"

Little update on my skincare:
I’m using a daily peeling to clean my face in the morning and evening. It’s by Neutrogena, from their “anti acne range”, as I call it. Follow with the toner every now and then and wait for my face to dry and then I put on my moisturizer. (Also Neutrogena, but the aqua gel from the hydra boost series) So basically I ditched night creams and that stuff. I still rely on a white paste with zinc and salicylic acid at night ‘cause pimples. And eye cream at night. Nobody sees a difference but me, I just keep telling myself it’s fiiiiine.
And thanks to living in a city instead of a shadowy mountain village I need to put up with sunscreen in my face every. freaking. day. It might sound weird, but I started putting aftershave on my face and then the moisturizer/sunscreen and damn it, my skin has been handling the sunscreen so much better. I used to avoid it at all costs unless I went swimming or hiking, because my skin would break out like hell afterwards.
And face masks. I swear. 2 to 3 times a week not always the same. Rotate between a few, find some that work. I have a few drugstore options and those, uhm, I believe it’s l’oreal that has these multi masking (black, green and a orange/brown/red kind of color)
I got a pack of thermo masks by Biore from my mum, they’re different but actually my skin feels nice afterwards which has me wondering: has anybody tried their cleansers/washing gels etc.?

And here I am, just cleaned my face and realized I forgot two things. First: I do one weekly peeling that’s... well, let’s say it does a different job because the texture is different. I call it „a deep cleaning“ And, most importantly: tea tree oil. I’m not kidding. I add two to three drops to my moisturizer twice in a week. (Put some moisturizer on my fingers, add the drops and then rub my fingers so it kind if mixed together and then put it on my face) Yes, it smells, but in my case - it’s worth the smell.

I started getting two small but very red patches of eczema around my chin (odd because I haven’t suffered with that for years now and never on my face) so I’ve been going in hard on my skincare the last couple of months and I’m so so pleased. I have pretty clear skin anyway other than this eczema fiasco but I’ve just gone to exfoliating daily with a warm flannel, occasionally with sugar on dry bits. Elemis marine cream overnight, with diprobase emollient on top to keep the moisture in (only on the eczema bits cos it’s incredibly greasy!!) and Clinique dramatically different moisturing gel during the day. Occasionally a Simple face mask for a decent cleanse. Worked an absolute treat, my skins back to normal and I’m not even wearing foundation or anything to work at the mo and I’m so confident with my skin which I’ve rarely been happy to do before haha. Yay.
If anyone suffers with dry or red skin or eczema have a go with diprobase - it’s just a fairly greasy ointment which is designed to keep moisture so works great overnight over a decent moisturiser - can’t recommend enough and it’s only like a fiver.
