Nope, I just don't see her as a major act anymore I don't think it's a bad thing at all, I mean at one point she was indeed considered as one of the biggest pop stars and influences in pop culture, but those days are behind her, at least that's my opinion. That can change of course depending on how her album does. And no I don't consider her as a flop just because AL was, well, the way it was. I don't think she's any less of an artist now than she was back in the day, it's just that her cultural impact is a thing of the past. And it's normal, I mean how many female pop stars from the early 00s are still as influential as they were back then. It's the nature of pop music, it recycles itself. I don't think it's a bad thing too, but I disagree For example you don't not consider Madonna a "big" anymore because she has no longer the success & influence she had in the 80's? I'm not fan of her, but I think she still a big name of pop music. Oh no no, by pop stars I meant exactly that: pop stars. Madonna's career is not ever remotely comparable, I'm pretty sure she earned her icon status. We're getting a little bit off topic here so at this point we can just agree to disagree

Madonna is still a big name in pop music because she's literally the biggest female pop star of all time.

mikicomplicated Ino You know, these are personal tastes so yes at this point we can only agree to disagree. My was just an example because I know many people that say Madonna is no longer a big name anymore after repeated flops and I disagree with them although I never liked her. I'm not comparing her to Avril. Maybe I'm stupid, but for me to say that Avril is no longer an important name of music it's absurd. Just in the name of what she represented in the '00s. With this I conclude, everyone has rightly its opinion

As several people here stated before, I also think that this isn't referring to Avril, mainly to the fact that she's not considered a "major pop artist" anymore. And I also think that it would indeed be too early for Avril. Only about a week ago she said in that Facebook live that she hasn't chosen a single yet. She could have chosen one by now, though, and it's also not clear what exactly they mean with "the upcoming few weeks" (could be 2 weeks, could be 8 weeks). But still... I just have a feeling that this isn't referring to Avril. It'd be too good to be true anyway... Is it Gaga, then? I honestly have no idea, I hardly follow popular music at all. I didn't even know she'd been working on new music until someone here posted about it yesterday. And I don't even really care. Avril is the only pop artist I really care about.

I'm not sure if I'm insulted or not. I don't live under a rock. I don't live in a cave in Afghanistan. I will be the first to admit, I have no clue who that is. But, I have to ask, what makes you so sure that's Stephanie? P.S. sorry administrators for not being related to Avril but felt I had to make my point when feeling personally victimised by other members. Personally victimized? Are you serious? I asked you a simple question. That makes you a victim? Anyway, you're probably right. Nobody else in the business wears hats like that.
