One thing I hate about this generation is that they keep re-making things, instead of coming up with new ideas. There's so many examples I can think of right now, live actions of Beauty and the Beast or other Disney films, sequels to lots of successful movies (Finding Dory, Toy Story 4, Frozen spinoff), the new Star Wars trilogy, Mean Girls musical, The Lord of the Rings TV series, etc.. There are very rarely original ideas anymore and usually the few original ideas are not that good. I am not that far into the HP saga yet but I would hate to see it be remade down the road. The reason people love it so much is because it's original and it's its own thing, it's not a remake of anything. A remake would never do the story justice and I think lots of hardcore fans would be pissed about it, to be honest. NO. Some things should just be left untouched. Not everything has to be remade or made into sequels or into unnecessary musicals and TV shows. #RantOver I haven't gotten to that part yet but I kind of already know that Hermoine and Ron end up together and I actually like that. I think it would have been too obvious to pair her with Harry, like that's so cliche to make the lead male and female get together. I think it's more interesting and different to have Hermoine end up with someone unexpected and Harry as well. Ron and Hermoine are also quite opposites in their personalities. I'm not sure Hermoine is like Harry that much either, but she and Ron are definitely very very different, so again, that makes their relationship more interesting IMO. Yeah I completely agree with you Yes, I think that Hermione and Ron balance each other, they're different and complete opposites but complementary opposites sorry to have spoiled that to you btw Nah I knew about it already. It really says something about the cultural impact this series has when I had never read it or seen the movies, yet knew the characters and general backstory, even long before I started getting into the series.

I'm just reading the illustrated edition, I finished the first book yesterday and now I'm going to read the second and the third (the other four books haven't been released in this edition yet)... I know the story quite well as I saw all the movies when I was little and I also started the first book years ago, but I've actually never read the whole serie. I wasn't into fantasy at that age and later I though it's "pointless" to read it as I've remembered so many spoilers from the movies. However, now after years I decided to try it again with the edition illustrated by Jim Kay and I really like it. I also forgot many things so even if the story seems familiar to me, it's still not that predictable. And there are some new details and characters in the books (or at least they weren't so present in the movies).

I also find it more credible than if she had ended up with Harry. I think one of the strengths of the book series is precisely the tension between Hermione and Ron, because both fancy each other and both are very different, so they often collide but never fall apart, and Harry is obviously always caught in the middle. It's such a Jane Austen-kind of relationship: the characters start hating each other because of an initial fall out and slowly grow fond of each other due to the revealing of their true nature, with lots of backs and forths in between. And if we all swallowed the fact that Lizzy Bennet ended up with Mr Darcy, why shouldn't Hermione end up with Ron?

For Christmas my boyfriend got me the last few Harry Potter books I was missing (5, 6, and 7) and these Harry Potter page clips. One pack has the different houses of Hogwarts on them and the other pack has the different characters - Harry, Hermoine, Ron, and Draco.

Something as long as Harry Potter is reasonable to make a film since not everyone is gonna read/follow the ass-long book/story. But something as short as Cinderella is kind of bullshit when you already know the story line.
Although I'm not a big fan of reading, the story and movie by their own is amazing. Just noticed how massive could be about imagination, like created another world as well as connecting to the real world. And I think there are lot of things reflect real life like discrimination, murder, authority, innate power/missing, friendship, along with children/teenagers-friendly, this movie is educational and entertaining. What I got is... no matter how your life ends up, you have some enjoyable moments and be grateful, your long-lasting friends and families are the most important role for you life too

I finished Goblet of Fire over the weekend, but haven’t watched the movie yet. Read the first chapter of Order of the Phoenix last night. I was really surprised how dark Goblet of Fire got towards the end.
