That's like saying that anyone else who has worked with him isn't strong or doesn't know what they want, etc. An asshole will be an asshole, no matter what.
The truth is we don't actually know what happened behind the scenes with him and Avril, other than what was shown on the documentary. She is rarely the type to disparage others publicly. Like I said, I can imagine the possibility she will be asked about him when she does another interview for the next album, it could come up. But it's similar to when she was asked about Amanda Bynes and she told some story about randomly meeting her in the bathroom at an event and that she had a positive experience with her. Butch's book already insinuates something negative happened when Luke worked with Avril, provided that story is accurate. But Avril isn't the type to talk about that kind of stuff publicly, just like we will never know what the burning bridges tweet was referring to or what caused the fallout between her and Martin Johnson, etc. Just because she doesn't talk about it, doesn't mean stuff didn't go down. The thing that supposedly happened with TBDT also kind of made Avril look stupid, so there is no reason why she would ever want to publicly discuss it. Notice how she never worked with Luke again after TBDT, even though they made a monster hit together?
If I remember correctly, I also think Luke was actually someone RCA brought in to work with Avril, he wasn't someone Avril wanted to work with on her own. Yeah she bragged in interviews about how she did the album without an A&R guy and it was all her own idea, blah blah blah. That's been her schtick to the media since day 1. It doesn't mean that what she originally shows her label is the final product. I do genuinely believe she starts albums by herself and gets ideas going, but she always has to have the label approve it before it is released and every album has been changed at least to some degree from her original vision, even her earlier albums. TBDT was no exception to that. Yes, it was her own idea to make the album fun and upbeat. I can see her making some of those cheerleader songs early on, in fact Butch was one of the first people involved with the album and TBDT song was one of the first songs recorded, which is where Luke got the idea for Girlfriend from.
But I seem to remember something about Avril showing the label the record and they thought it didn't have any hits and that's when Luke was brought in. You can hear a clear difference between some of the more pop/punk stuff like One of Those Girls and Contagious, I feel like that's the record was really supposed to be, that then went into this bratty cheerleader direction with Girlfriend, I Don't Have to Try, etc. It wasn't really Avril's decision to work with Luke and even though it seemed like they had fun together and made good songs, she opted to never work with him again, while she has chosen to work again with other co-writers like Butch, Evan, and Chad.
