Pollyanna Set in the 60s, one of my favourites. Depressing how everyone's probabaly now dead in it though. I think the only cast in it still alive is Hayley Mills and the lady who played Nancy

Law abiding citizen. Loved it til the last 15 mins, what a shite ending I agree. Without being specific, I'll just say there was too much violence directed against characters that didn't deserve it.

La La Land. It's arguably the most overrated movie ever in my opinion, and I can't understand how it got the same Oscars' nominations as All About Eve. I can't see how anyone can see something more in it than a blend of 500 Days Of Summer and Singing In The Rain with more forgettable songs than any of the two. Emma Stone is great though, but I feel like she stretches her role to the maximum because the script doesn't allow her that much of a great performance. I had lots of expectations about it because I love classic Hollywood musicals but this just doesn't hold a candle to them. It feels forced and faux and so dependent on the references to the great musicals of the 50s that it doesn't have any value on its own. Basically I think that it's a case of the Emperor's New Clothes. And regarding clothes, please can someone from California tell me if Gosling is the one man on earth that wears a wool suit in LA or is it really colder than I have always thought? I mean, Emma Stone's dress in the same scene hasn't got sleeves.
Edit: I must say that the use of colour is one of the few departments in which the movie is somehow remarkable but again it's just a throwback to the 50s movies and it only really lives up to its precedents in some scenes.

The Green Lantern. Just about watchable. Just a bit predictable and unoriginal. Same as all superhero movies, good conquers evil, blah, blah, blah. The End.

Mean Girls
I'm preaching to the choir by praising this on BA, but it's one of those films that you shouldn't judge by the cover/poster, because they make it look like a chick flick. It's actually a really clever, funny film and I loved every minute of it.

Funny Girl (1968) The ending drags on a bit imo, but overall it's still very good and fun to watch. And Barbra Streisand is

Oh me again. The Beauty and he Beast live action movie with Emma Watson and lots of CGI who happen to be cousin Matthew from Downton Abbey Dan Stevens. As much as I believe that all the cast plays their parts very convincingly the film itself doesn't hold a candle to the animated version. The musical parts specially. I really dislike the new ones. It also feels like the tried too hard to make a politically correct film, which just makes it look fake and inconsistent. As for Watson, she is more beautiful than ever and she portrays a very credible Belle, but am I the only one that believes she was reprising her role as Hermione Granger with straight hair and period clothes? Like...know-it-all, daring girl from a non-magical background running around an enchanted castle, bossing over everyone, loving the library and its books and taking the servant's side I have to say I liked the castle though. As much as it's impossible as a building, I really appreciated the effort to re-create historic spaces- although sometimes they felt more Austrian/German/Bohemian than French.I also spotted parts of the exterior that were evidently based on from French châteaus façades. Other than that it feels forced and unnecessary.
