So I tried to upload my Avril Lavigne documentary to YouTube but it has been blocked because of copyright. Does anyone know of any other video sharing sites I can use that don't have any restrictions with file size? My video is 2.5 hours long and over 4 GB. Most other sites I've looked into only allow small file sizes or the video cannot be longer than 60 minutes. I've already looked into both DailyMotion and Vimeo and they have restrictions. Facebook also has a file size limit.

Which are the copyright holders? (just to have an idea if a possible counternotification would unblock it) Is it blocked worldwide or just in a few countries? In dailymotion you could apply as a partner and it accepts you automatically, in the past (like a couple months ago) this would allow you to remove all the filesize and lenght restrictions, now it remains the same with the new interface But in terms of reach Youtube is Youtube A way to overcome this is to mirror effect the clips that are copyright holded and detected by Youtube's content ID system If you want more reach I can upload your documentary in my channel that has almost 17k Avril subs www.youtube.com/user/sexygirl69690And I would give you credit

Basically it got flagged because I used all the AL songs so it gave me the option to remove or mute them which would defeat the whole purpose. It has been blocked worldwide. I'll see what I can do with either Daily Motion or the site Harvey posted first. If nothing works, it'd be great if you could upload it from your channel!

SME usually just blocks audio and it stays blocked in Germany If its just SME, they dont care much, just send a counternotification, if they don't reply in 30 days, the video will be warning will disapear and it will be unblocked forever I have a couple of videos like this, but its kinda random, some of my videos only worked at 2nd or 3rd time

Hmm what's interesting is that for some reason it got uploaded twice (I may have reloaded the page when I thought it wasn't uploading). One got flagged for copyright, then another version simply said it was "too long", so I had to "verify" my account to allow for longer videos and then "activate" the video and now it appears to be up (but who knows for how long!) Anyway, thanks for your help and I hope you enjoy my video!

You could upload it to a cloud service like Google Drive which allows you to play or 'preview' uploaded videos within the browser. No file size limit and no copyright blocks. That would allow you to share the documentary with us, but it wouldn't be available to the GP like it would be on video sharing websites. That would be the big downside to doing it that way.

Honestly that would be perfectly ok with me. It appears it's been blocked a second time already, so clearly YouTube isn't going to cut it and most other sites have restrictions with file size or length. I just want the fans to be able to see it and enjoy it, even if it's just the people here on Bandaids. It's true more people would see it on YT but with the copyright BS it's just not even worth it. YT is so effing stupid about that, by the way. Why can't they change their rules and allow people to use music and other stuff in their videos, so long as they aren't trying to make money off it or something. How is it that other people upload Avril's albums in full or her documentaries, or like that guy who also made a video about AL, yet their videos stay up?

I haven't got the slightest clue as to how YouTube works in regards to copyrighted material. I do know that YouTube allows uploads of songs sometimes because they can place 'but this song here' ads underneath the videos and thus use the videos to promote purchasing of the music used in the videos. (Which doesn't seem to me like that would be beneficial since people can listen to songs on YouTube rather than buying it). I don't know why sometimes it's allowed and other times it's not.
It probably has to do with where the music comes from, such as who has ownership of the music (i.e. Sony, UMG, etc.). YouTube probably has different agreements with different companies.

Youtube has a content ID system that identifies content via samples that copyright owners send onto their account and the system tries 2 find a match during the encoding process Usually SME owned content is easy to bypass because most time they dont act on couter notifications All Avril songs are owned by SME and the only song that was WW blocked was this rare leak "Think About it" that I managed to bypass To bypass video owned by any other copyright owner just mirror/invert the video side to side, you simply have to mirror the ones that are identified and reupload
There are channels that basically just do this, mirror videos
But the most majority of the content isn't sampled / sent onto the content ID system
