No Man's Sky is not a disappointment. It gets better with time. Trouble is though, they made lots of false promises and the most recent update was stuff that, imo - should of been in the base game.

You can draw a lot of parallels between Deathwing and No Man's Sky. Both games were made by relatively small studios, both launches were a disaster, both games were overhyped and dealt a lot of false promises to those who cared. The difference is that No Man's Sky had the backing of a major publisher (Sony), and one expects a lot more with that kind of money flying around. It's nice that they're adding content to NMS finally, but meh whatever. The base game was so broken and bereft of content that I got a refund and I've long since moved on. I might re-purchase it a few years down the line when it's massively discounted.

Star Citizen is similar but has been in development for nearly half a decade already and has $100 million+ backing. I will always have high hopes for it. The game to end all games. Still somewhat regretting dropping $100+ on a Freelancer.

That reminds me, I designed two of my characters in Terraria after Avril. Not very difficult to do as the game has pixel graphics The first has brown hair while the second has blonde hair. Here's the blonde one: I actually have several characters. Here is my main character. I think he looks pretty badass. All those tombstones are the sites of deaths, most of which are from when I hop into local multiplayer with my main character to ahem "test" new weaponry on my other characters. Too bad Terraria doesn't have proper ultrawide support Now I want to do another playthrough...
