Questions could have been;
You are working with new collabrators on this album - how was it to work with Allan and Clark?
You are also back with Lauren, whom penned some songs back in 2002 for your debut album. Is there any resemblance beetween HAW and LG? Did you and Lauren come up with a whole new sound?
How was it to come back into the studio, what inspired you to write these songs for the 6th album?
You have produced a few tracks on this album, can you tell us more about that?
I Fell In Love With The Devil is one of the longest titles you've released. What is the story of the track?
You've got a new team and the freedom to create the music you wanted. What was the vibe you really want to get out for this album?
Having gone through Lyme disease. Are you planning to get on the road again?
You said tgat you've thought out the consept for the Head Above Water music video. Do you have thoughts for more music videos?
Etc etc etc

Big papers/tabloids always go for some common big themes that are a bit closer to the contemporary common knowledge among readers.

Is it just me or does the article seem a bit confusing at times? Like the writer lost her concentration a bit?
Anyway, it's still a really nice interview, and the new photo is absolutely stunning.

We'd do such a good job. Would love answers to those questions.

YES. I feel like the interviewer for her Billboard article did the same thing. Idk if it's a trend or what but it's confusing af

I enjoyed reading this article, and looking forward to many more as she promotes her new album 😊
The writer references the 'baffling mid-portion' of Avril career, though I would argue baffling isn't the right word there. More appropriate maybe experimental. You can't fit a person in a box, and very few people can say they've done the same thing, without progression including experimentation, throughout their career. Avril's proud of her career, and personally I enjoy and love her music because whatever she does her personality shines through - she's not afraid to try different things yet keeps her own voice, so to speak. Just my thoughts 🙂
Also, I absolutely loved these quotes...
"I’m highly intuitive and I’ve always got a very strong gut feeling."
“I’m a fucking rock star, bitch!”

It seems like nobody wants to cast Avril into a sympathetic light. They imagine emotions in her responses like "exasperated", etc., that are mostly personal interpretations and most people wouldn't even notice. It's like some writers think it makes them witty and intelligent if they make Avril sound nasty.
It's obvious Avril doesn't know about feminism in its modern form. It's still about "girl power" to her so it's useless to try to get a comment from her on that sort of topic. And that's fine, a lot of women don't understand or know about feminism and they can still be feminist role models.
But it was amusing how she keeps saying she wants to discuss her music but won't discuss it very deeply because she would be revealing too much of her personal life.
I think Avril is just such a private person it will always be difficult to interview her and get a lot of information out of her because she doesn't want even fans to know all the details.

I never got why people say she doesn’t understand feminism. She said TMIO was about not taking “bullshit” from a man and her music has always had feminist themes, like DTM. Avril isn’t a hyper-feminist like the way millennial women are these days and I think that’s the interviewer’s problem with her. She was expecting Avril to basically trash Dr. Luke or say she’s had experiences of sexism in the industry but she hasn’t and her personal experiences with Luke were positive. God forgive her if she hasn’t been victimized. That’s a good thing!

The interviewer's goal was to look for something juicy from Avril. Music was the last of her thoughts. Here is perhaps where her post-interview "anger" comes from. She did't get what she wanted.
