Avril Lavigne Performs at the Special Olympics 2019
It was only a few short years ago that Avril gave her first performance after battling Lyme disease at the opening ceremony of the Special Olympics, performing her original uplifting tune "Fly." Now Avril is back to perform once again at the opening ceremony in Abu Dhabi, where she teamed up with Latin artist Luis Fonzi, DJ Paul Oakenfold, and Emirati singer Hussain Al Jassmi to perform the new Special Olympics anthem "Right Where I'm Supposed to Be," which was written by OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder. Avril has previously been involved with the Special Olympics through her charity The Avril Lavigne Foundation and she lent her support to this project by providing vocals to the new song in English while her fellow performers sang in Spanish and Arabic.
