If you could sit down and have a conversation with any person (celebrity, scientist, writer, artist, musician, politician etc ...) who is no longer alive, who would it be and why?

I would sit down and talk with both Olave Powell and Agnes Powell. (The wife and sister of Sir Lord Baden Powell the founder of the scout movement) The two that started the scout movement for girls. I would like to talk about their dedication and how it was like to give girls the same activity as the boys. How a military adaption turned into scouting, was possible for girls. I would also like to know their political veiw and if they would approve how it have turned out today, 100 years later.

Guess who was actually in Poland and Auschwitz?

I thought Knut agreed with him... ? That's what we learned in school.

That's what we learned in school. And they told you right. He was a prominent advocate for Hitler in Norway and did share various common points of view, such as racial inequality and the need to found a confederation of "Germanic" states that would assume Scandinavia. But in 1943, after sending his Nobel Prize medal as a gift to Goebbels, he was appointed an interview with Hitler in Germany. There he apparently-according to Otto Dietrich, as far as I know he never talked about his encounter with Hitler- interrupted Hitler to tell him that he was being unfair killing the Norwegian prisoners and that Joseph Terboven was oppressing the country-and I think he also mentioned that bis policies were ruining the Norwegian relationship with its neighborhood, Sweden. Hitler stormed out of the room and spent three days angry because of their conversation.

I would want to talk to Kurt Cobain and Lucille Ball. Edit: Oh and Tolkien. Let's not forget Tolkien. But if I could only choose one of them, I'd probably pick Tolkien, just because I'd want to know what's going on in that brain of his to make up the kind of stuff he did.

Famous people? No one. I'm a nobody. How the hell could I engage in meaningful dialogue with all these great minds and cultural influencers? Sure, I'd like to be able to challenge Hitler's philosophy and psychology, but I don't think I'd be able to do that in any kind of convincing way. I don't even speak German.
There ARE dead people who weren't and aren't famous, with whom I would have a LOT to talk about. But Ive already put a downer on the thread, so I'll shut up now.

It doesn't necessarily have to be someone famous, and nor does it have to be about asking big questions. It's just someone you find interesting.

I would like to talk to Michael Jackson. I have always been a fan of his music and so are my mother and my sisters, so I grew up listening his music. I dont have any big questions, but I would just like to know whats the truth and what situations and points in his life made him become what he was. He was such a sad soul and had a crazy mind. Sometimes scary, sometimes beautiful. (I have to add I belive that he was innocent of abusing the boys)

Actually I don't like to talk to strangers, but if I could speak with a dead man, it would be Edgar Allan Poe(because he is the one I can think of right now). He was such a weird personality. It would be interesting to know how he died and what was thinking of in those last moments of life.
