If her voice is well enough to be recording, then it'll definitely be fine enough for a live performance.

Imo there's no reason why she couldn't knock it out of the ball park if she indeed is fully recovered by then. She's a naturally good clear singer. Better than so called superstars of today like (archrivals) KP and TS, but also veterans like BS. They might sell a lot more records than Avril, but on her worst day she'll outsing all these girls...no fear... Still very excited about her first live performance in almost a year (!). Unless she has a health setback at some point in the coming weeks I'm confident she'll kill that performance....murder it.....Let's stay positive and above all supportive shall we...

Given that she's been REALLY ill, lip-synching her first live performance isn't out of the question. I'm not an expert on anything, but I can imagine recording a song in a comfortable studio and doing that stuff on stage are totally different things.

Didn't she said she have never been afraid of being on stage, never get nerves? But I'm kinda agree with you coz she was obviously nerves in The Voice performance.

Who said anything about nerves? :/ I'm thinking more in terms of her general health and how much energy she has.

It's only 1 song though. It's not like she's performing a whole concert. She's performed entire concerts with the flu and other illnesses, I think she can handle 1 song when she's mostly recovered from something that hasn't even affected her voice at all.
All her fans know Avril would never lip synch. Not for an illness. Any time she was too ill to sing she just canceled. Any time she appeared on a TV show that made artists lip synch she had her band mime to the track but Avril still sang live. For the Macy's parade she lip synced to a "live" track. She's never once lip synced to the original track of a song. And I don't see her starting now. Avril is the type of person who will sing live, no matter how sick she is or how bad she sounds. She always finds some way out of completely lip synching.

Not to mention that if general health and energy is what fans are worried about, doesn't lip synching take about the same amount of energy as just singing the song? She still has to get onto the stage and move her lips up and down.
Edit: If anything, she may have the song playing behind her and she'll sing along.

^ Considering other artists are performing, I think that there will be enough space for a band, so Avril will probably have a backing band; whether it be her band, or a band that's provided for the event.
I personally would love it if her performance was just her and a guitar player (or piano player). A super stripped down performance would be amazing! I'd prefer that over a full band performance.

I meant that she could have the song playing behind her as a supporting track if it's too much for her to sing completely live. She's had backing tracks in many of her performances while still having the band with her and singing live. She's done it with GF, HTNGU, RNR, 17, and others.
