I'd even argue that Pink Floyd and Cooper were a little showy for my taste. I've just never dug all that theatrical, larger than life spectacle stuff. Then again, I wasn't there, so what do I know? Can't say I strongly disagree with you. But, how could you not enjoy seeing Alice get his head chopped off in a guillotine? I've never seen Alice Cooper live- I wish- but I agree that the "theatrical" part of his (their) shows does enrich them rather than distract from the music. However, both him (them) and Pink Floyd are a totally different league. Same as Queen, if you let me include them. Some of their live concerts are so good precisely because of the proper use of lighting. And ACDC shows just aren't ACDC's if Angus Young doesn't play in that school boy uniform. However, I much doubt that's the case of Avril

I grew up with all sorts of imitators - Marilyn Manson, Slipknot, Rammstein, Norwegian black metal bands etc. - so I think I was desensitized to Alice's theatrics before I was even introduced to them. Not that any of those bands ever impressed me, either. I've always been more about the music than all that "look at me, being all edgy and upsetting the normies" shock rock nonsense. EDIT: Whoops, I guess we're getting a bit off topic. Sorry everyone

I depends on the album and what she wants to do for the tour. If she has a "pop" album and wants to included multiple dress changes, dancers and more (stupid) paraphernalia, she should like she did with TBDT. If it's going to be just "Avril and her band" with just a few things to add, I think having Ferlazzo as musical director (like he was last tour) should be enough. Whatever the case may be, she should improve her concerts, including setlist and performance itself. How she did it last tour won't cut it, even though she still has the excuse that she was ill and couldn't give 100 %. I hope she tries in the future.

I think Ferlazzo as a musical director isnt good, because he is part of her band and I cant image that he is in the position to tell her "no". He is probably saying yes to her like everyone else around her...
While I'm not a fan of dancers, I think a set for the next tour could be good. A light-set to add some more action and maybe a bit of confetti is enough for me, I also like the videos (but not if it's just the music video). But all in all, the set isnt the main problem of her concerts; it's Avril herself, standing in the middle, singing without emotions but with a strange accent.
