Maybe she will cancel Germany if it's spread in Italy quickly.. damn this virus is hard. It's in no time across the world it seems. (it's not everywhere but still). I hope everything will work out but the risk can be high so I'm a bit concerned about the upcoming shows in Europe.

I agree Bogo. I meant it’s sad that she’s riding this wave of popularity and to recapture that could prove difficult down the road. Hopefully not. My response was to bluecouse, who said it’d be an “overreaction” to cancel the European dates.

It would be an overreaction at this point. I mean there’s still direct flights between Europe and China. If things accelerate dramatically over the next few weeks then take another look but at this point it’s got to just be Asia (and Milan may be out of her hands anyway). There’s gigs, football matches etc happening all over Europe every day. Remember the population of Europe is 700+ million and there’s a handful of cases - I’m not sure how it’s being reported in the US etc but it’s not like everyone and their dog has it and most people aren’t exactly in a panic about it.

Too early to say what’s gonna happen in two weeks. Time will tell. Sadly the entire tour she got announced is in the regions somehow affected so if it gets really bad - she may not tour in 2020 at all.

I totally agree. At this moment in time I am not worried at all! There is currently only 13 reported cases of coronavirus in the UK and no deaths. I would probably say though that she may cancel the whole of Europe where it sounds like it is worse in Italy rather than just carrying on some dates in the UK. I can’t see her only performing in some countries. She’ll prob just cancel the whole leg.

Honestly better safe than sorry. If I were going to be going to the show, I'd be kind of concerned about possibly catching something and no concert is worth it. They have to think of everyone involved, both Avril and fans. I don't see how doing what's in the best interest of everyone is an "overreaction." It's a weird virus that up until now nobody even knew what it was. Who the hell wants to risk getting infected just to see a stupid concert? Like literally... it's just a concert. It's not that big a deal for them to move it, concerts get rescheduled all the time. She was forced to do the same thing on the Black Star Tour when the Japan dates had to be moved because of the earthquake. Fair enough and that’s your opinion! Just from my point of view until the NHS or Public Health England tells me to avoid crowds, football matches, shopping centres, train stations, city centres etc...I’m going to carry on about my daily basis. And as of yet in my country the advice we’ve been given is to wash hands etc... which is the same flu prevention advice. That’s why I’m not worried. Ask me in a few months when we’re all zombies and it’s like 28 Days Later 😏

Hi guys! I’m one of the unlucky person who bought tickets for the Milan shows. I don’t understand why she doesn’t cancel the Milan concerts yet? It doesn't matter what’s gonna happen in two weeks, this situation is dangerous for everyone. What do you think guys I would get a full refund from Ticketmaster, Ryanair and Booking if I refer to the Coronavirus?

Not sure about the hotel booking but I doubt Ryanair will issue refunds unless the government advises against travel to Italy. Ticketmaster will if she cancels and from past experience if you can’t make the rearranged date they’ll refund you if you ask.

I think it's a little too soon to be talking about cancellations in Europe. There has been a spike in Italy, recently. But, I think authorities have the ability to get on top of things before they get out of control. If you want to see the daily reports from the WHO, you can see them here.

At this point containing the disease is not an option. The only thing people can do is try to prevent it from spreading to so many people at once that it overwhelms the local hospitals. They may have to cancel or reschedule the concerts for that reason. From what I hear disease experts expect it to become a pandemic around the world but that doesn't mean that people are going to be locked away in their homes. It will mostly mean people are prevented from going to large gatherings such as concerts. A lot of people are going to get the coronavirus and most probably won't know they've had it because it feels so close to the flu or a cold.
From what I remember most of the people in England who were confirmed to have had the coronavirus got it from one guy. If one infected person flew into the UK to see her concert then they could potentially infect dozens of people who would go out into the population and infect more people. It will probably be up to the governments of the countries she's going to, to decide if they want to cancel all large gatherings.

Wow. I just saw on the news, they have cancelled soccer matches in Rome. If that's true, it's worse than I thought.

Over 100 infected in Italy, some people cannot leave their cities to prevent more infections.

From Ticketmaster you will get a refund if the show is canceled or postponed They haven’t canceled because even the WHO says it’s not the time for such actions, it’s not pandemic. For now they are trying to limit its spread but obviously it will come to many more countries, and we gonna observe news on that for the upcoming months.

I’m not sure how it’s being reported in the US etc but CNN have answered my question for me by tweeting that “Germany is not currently considering closing its borders with Italy” when Germany does not border Italy.
