Killed it! She didn't get the Grammy tho idk who did. Hope one day she gets to perform on the official award ceremony. She was nominated for Best Metal Performance with ‘Bloodmoney’, right? Body Count won it with ‘Bum-Rush’. Never heard of that song and never heard of them. The Grammy’s are just awful. Rock categories are always weak these days. Megan Thee Stallion won Best New Artist, no nominations for The Weeknd, they had Cardi B and Megan perform WAP at the awards ceremony......if that doesn’t sum up the Grammy’s right there then I don’t know what does. I definitely respect artists of different genres and other people’s music taste but here I gotta say.....Poppy has more talent as an artist then Megan and Cardi B have combined in my opinion. I’ll never understand the hype around those two.

How did they actually see the music, like how did they get to decide who gets the award? Album/single sales? Who's the most viral? I don't know anymore.

How did they actually see the music, like how did they get to decide who gets the award? Album/single sales? Who's the most viral? I don't know anymore. I think it’s a combination of popularity and who they like. Them shutting the The Weeknd out is just pure bias, that one is so obvious you can’t even try to argue that it isn’t personal. Apparently he’s going to boycott the Grammy’s going forwards too. It’s definitely not mainly about the music. There’s not much reason though for the Grammy’s to change things when people both still watch it and their current favorites like Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, and Cardi B, play along with their corrupt system instead of speaking up for their fellow artists being treated unfairly. This might sound harsh cause I know they don’t have to say or do anything , but it makes it look like they support the bias and are happy to just keep gaining from it and accept the advantage at winning these awards. I think this may be the type of situation where if you stay quiet you’re still saying something.

I think I prefer this dark hairstyle for Poppy. The other one makes her look like an edgy Hannah Montana.
Hot take, I doubt the Weeknd would be boycotting the Grammy's if he had been nominated.
I don't watch the Grammy's. I only check my faves and complain lol. Tbh I don't really care what artist boycotts or not. Like when Taylor was fighting itunes I didn't care either. Although, I am with her that artists should own their own work and writers should get more money. Basically fuck award shows and labels. They suck.
I like Meghan and WAP lol but I agree that performing WAP at the Grammy's shows how low they've gone. She should have performed Savage, Beyonce was there! Anyways, I would have given the BNA to Ingrid Andreas but I'm not mad about Megan winning.

They won’t recognize him now so he’s boycotting them going forwards, but I agree with his opinion on it and don’t see it as just an ego thing where he’s having a tantrum. Blinding Lights was a top song of the year, he deserved a nomination. I just don’t why an artist would want to win an award knowing another artist who deserved to be there and possibly would’ve won it if the award show was fair was cheated. Strips a lot of the award’s value and personally I wouldn’t be able to feel good or proud about it, but I guess that’s a personal morals thing that people of course see differently. I’ll reply about it one more time if alloutofmycontrol replies and there’s anything more to add but other then that I don’t mean to derail this thread with talk that has nothing to do with Poppy.

Might sound harsh and bias cuz I love Poppy but I kinda knew she wasn't gonna win. I mean of course she deserved the award (any kind of award, seeing how amazing of an artist she is) but with all the bullshit that Grammy's has put out, I didn't expect much. Like I said before the fact that she was nominated is a great achievement

I didn't even know she was nominated. I saw a schedule for the whole event and was surprised to see her name. That's why I checked out her performance. Bastards always leave rock out of the ceremony. But tbh I didn't recognize any of the other nominees. anyone know Phoebe Bridges? She was nominated a lot on the rock categories but I thought she was pop alternative.
I think Blinding Lights should have been nominated. But it doesn't guarantee a win. Dua Lipa and Taylor should have gotten way more wins and they only won one each. Just a crappy show in general.

Same. Idk how they would define rock anymore. Might as well call Metallica a pop band.

Where did you see it? She hasn't stated a release date to my knowledge. I just figured it'd be out this week but nothing did. This sounds more like something Avril would do than Poppy. Where's the song!? 😭😂

I heard she's also going to put out a new record "soon" but I'm not sure when. I don't know whether it will be the same genre as I Disagree or not

"Poppy to Perform at WWE's NXT 'TakeOver Stand & Deliver' Special: Exclusive" Source: www.billboard.com/articles/news/9551636/poppy-perform-wwe-nxt-takeover-stand-deliver/By: Griselda Flores
4/6/2021A household name to WWE fans, pop-rock and nu-metal artist Poppy is set to perform and debut a new song during the second night of NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver on Thursday, April 8, Billboard can exclusively announce. The singer-songwriter, actress and internet personality first performed on NXT in Oct. 2019 and twice last year in February and again for NXT's Halloween Havoc. "Music has always been such a big part of WWE," says Paul Levesque, WWE's evp, global talent strategy and development. (Levesque is also a WWE superstar who debuted as "Triple H" in 1995, and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2019.) "Music adds so much to the emotion of what it is we do and that connection has been there since the very beginning when you had the rock and wrestling connection with Cyndi Lauper as part of the WWE." The 26-year-old artist, whose "Bloodmoney" was up for best metal performance at this year's Grammys, is "custom built for us and we immediately reached out," says Levesque, who brought Poppy on board after his team introduced him to her music. "NXT, a two-hour weekly live show, caters to a younger demographic and we typically have up-and-coming talent that we've been able to expose them in a bigger way to the world outside of their genre. It’s a great platform for her and it’s great for us." Collaborations between musicians and the WWE have evolved, Levesque points out. "They were sort of just transactional at first. Like, 'We want to use your song, pay us this much to use the song,' and that was the end of it. But now bands are super collaborative because they need the platform and we want to work with them. Now it's like, 'Hey, how can we work together to make this big for you and to make it big for us?' We have over a billion social media followers globally so the size and scope of WWE on every level can help these artists tremendously. When we work all together, it’s magic." Most recently, Bad Bunny has been making the rounds at WWE performing his smash hit "Booker T" at the 2021 Royal Rumble. But he didn't stop there. The Puerto Rican Grammy-winning artist is making his Wrestlemania 37 debut on April 10. His opponent: The Miz. "Bunny finds himself at a place in his career where he can just say I want to be in the WWE and that's amazing to me," Levesque adds. "He got a place in Orlando and he’s been training three times a week for the past three months. He has taken it so seriously. I love those collaborations. And Poppy is like Bunny in the way that every time I see her, she wants to get in the ring and wrestle and start training." NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver will be a two night event with night one (April 7) airing live on USA Network at 8:00 p.m. ET and night two (April 8) streaming at 8:00 p.m. ET exclusively on Peacock in the U.S. and WWE Network around the world.
