Yeah same thing with the movies with me but Philosophers stone I have watched like 6/7 times maybe? But I will watch them more now I guess as I got some dvds recently yay! The books i read just once except for 1,5 and 6, which I read twice because I had them or owned them at the time but I did buy DH the day it came out! I am planning to read the series again when I can find CoS and GoF. I want the hardcover GoF and also need CoS in paperback (I own PS in paperback and I am quite attached to it) to complete the collection. I borrowed the books to read before. And I want the original covers. I am a bit OCD with stuff. So maybe thats why I am holding out to read the series again until I have all the books. Also why I want the original covers and the last 4 books all in hardcover.
Edit: I just realised I read GoF twice as well, but once was in Afrikaans, my home language. My mother got it for me when she found it. It was n huge mistake. Horrible just horrible! Ugh the names they gave the characters and it just lost all the magic being translated. Never again. I don't even own it anymore

I'm going to say I've seen the films between 7-10 times. I've read PS-PoA maybe 5 times and the others 2/3 times.

I watched all movies like 2-3 times. Some more and some other less. I prefer the books over the movies. I think I read all books more than 7 times. Same here. And I always managed to read the books in the right order. Even when I make a break after e.g. PoA to read some other books, once I go back to reading HP I carry on with the next book; in this example that would be GoF.

I am waaaay too OCD to not read them in order! Lol. Like I said I think thats why I am only reading them again when I have all of them and in the original covers. BTW those enhanced ebook versions look fantastic! Have you seen them? J.K linked to a post on them on her twitter.
I cannot believe it has been so long since it ended...I was 13 when I started reading them and 21 when DH came out and then watching the last movie for the first time alone on dvd (after watching all the rest at the cinema! can you believe it) was actually pretty sad thinking that it is over...at least the expectation part.

I was six or seven years old when I started reading the books. I was such a slow reader back then, it took me years to finish all of the books. By the time Deathly Hallows was released I was still reading Order of the Phoenix. And I remember my sister telling me everything about DH, so none of the deaths and all that came as a shock. But I didn't mind back then; I liked HP a lot but I wasn't as big a fan as my sister. I only started realizing how much I love those books when I finally started reading them in English (that was about four years ago, I think). Now I can hardly read anything else without missing my HP books.
Btw, I'll never understand why they changed some things in the German edition. For example: in the original edition the Philosopher's Stone is located in vault 713. In the German edition that I have it's vault 719. How can that be a mistranslation?

They're all listed here (it's only in German, though) de.harry-potter.wikia.com/wiki/Nachtr%C3%A4gliche_%C3%84nderungenI only just found out that "Dianthuskraut" - the translation of "gillyweed" in the old German editions - is actually totally wrong. It was eventually changed to "Kiemenkraut" but I am still so shocked right now!

There is a Harry Potter sequel - as a play. (found this on facebook) "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child"J.K. Rowling wasn’t lying when she said her new play, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, isn’t a prequel. Because it’s actually a sequel, set 19 years after Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. The official synopsis of the play, which opens in London next year, was finally shared on Pottermore late on Thursday night: There are a few (not mutually exclusive) ways to interpret this news. One: Joy! Fans are getting another Harry Potter story. Two: Relief that the Deathly Hallows epilogue, which featured Harry and his friends all grown up with kids, won’t remain a nice but incomplete bit of fan service for mourning readers. Three: Uncertainty at the thought of seeing Harry Potter—The Boy Who Lived, who once slept in a cupboard under the stairs, the tormented and heroic teenager—as a weary, frumpy civil servant. Imagine the possibilities. For once, a Harry Potter story with no Voldemort (or a chunk of Voldemort’s soul trapped in a person/book). And a new hero in Harry’s middle child, Albus Severus (admittedly a real albatross of a name, however well-intentioned). It’s one thing to be named after two noble but flawed men, and another for one of those men to have killed the other, and yet another for your father to have witnessed both of those men die. And then, there’s Harry himself: What’s worse, having the most evil wizard of all time trying to murder you and everyone you love, or not being able to make it home in time for dinner? But for fans who are ready to move on from Harry Potter stories solely about the young wizard himself, Cursed Child could explore some interesting territory. Harry’s only sense of his father came through other people’s memories or fragments of magic, but now he gets to be a father to his three children, which poses its own challenges. And Rowling so thoroughly captured the thoughts and feelings of young Harry earlier in the series, it’ll be exciting to see her revisit the complexities of childhood again, after the books became less and less innocent. Are Harry and his friends still deeply haunted by those they lost? Will Harry ever be drawn to Dark Magic? Will Albus Severus? Will Harry learn more about his past, or are there secrets he’s been keeping from his family? Is Albus Severus actually the titular “cursed” child in some way? As fans ponder those questions, they can try and interpret clues from the play’s new artwork (which features Albus Severus sitting inside a nest in the shape of a Golden Snitch), or guess which of their favorite characters might be played by one of the show’s 30 actors. Unfortunately, only a lucky few will manage to snag tickets to both parts of the play (the decision to split it into two parts caused consternation among fans worried about the expense). Still others might manage to find scalped tickets. But the nature of the theater experience means the vast majority of fans won’t get to experience the communal joy of seeing what Rowling’s dreamed up for them. They’ll be trying not to feel too sad that the first new Harry Potter story in almost 10 years won’t be one they can binge-read the day it comes out. www.theatlantic.com/entertainment/archive/2015/10/harry-potter-the-sequel/412111/www.harrypottertheplay.com/

I do think that albus is the cursed child. I love the idea of knowing what will happen to Albus and co. But I dont want a new book..she should not cheapen the series by writing sequal books. A play is kinda different though...would be cool to see how it turns out.

I've signed up for the priority booking for tickets to see The Cursed Child. Now all I need to do is convince someone to come with me haha.
I'm not particularly worried about the plot because if J.K. Rowling is involved then it is in safe hands, but I really don't know how they are going to translate the wizarding world on to the stage

I am gearing up for the halloween feast at my Sims 2 Hogwarts...but pity I don't have a troll for the scene were they finally become friends. Is anybody dressing up as one of the characters for halloween? I wish I could. I would go as Hermione, Bellatrix or Trelawny as all 3 would fit my hair lol. Who would you have wanted to be even if you don't dress up?

I thought the Marauders in their animagus forms would be fun, but I suppose I'd have to go as Luna having blonde, wavy hair.
