Has anyone any clue why none of the movies didn't got an oscar? IKR? I absolutely think that Alan Rickman deserved one for Snape in the last 2 movies, especially the last one. That whole 'The Princes' Tale' sequence was so amazing and the death scene. And of course that speech in the Great Hall (actually that is one of Dan's best moments there too imo, with that speech he gives back). Even that scene where he just stares out at the students marching in he has so much going on in that expression! I think they got snubbed purely because they were Harry Potter movies. I can't remember did they even win one year for makeup or special effects or something? 'Coz even that is done well. I have the two-disc editions of the last 4 movies so I watched the extra stuff and wow, the makeup artists really are amazing. I agree with this totally! Alan Rickman for the win!! I also watched this behind the scenes stuff on tv one time and the goblins were made very well

I can't remember if they won any of the technical Oscars, but they totally deserved them as well. In my opinion, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson were great too and they totally deserved an Oscar for their portrayal of their characters, they made them so natural that you'd believe that Grint is this laid back, careless, not-too-smart guy from a peculiar family and Watson is a genuine over-controller, over-achiever nerd with a nervous temperament-well, in Watson's case, she's surely an intelligent woman but anyways... I think that the fact that they were "kids/teenager movies" is what got them off the road to the Oscar's. It's pretty unfair, especially taking into account that most of the movie sagas that have tried to live up to Harry Potter weren't half as good (Twilight, anyone?)

I do enjoy Twilight too, though, but yeah, the cast itself was not half as decent as Harry Potter. And the amount of detail and work that went into Harry Potter (both books and movies) is just amazing. I've heard in that interview between Jo and Dan that you could actually pick up and read the comic books in the Gryffindor common room! I mean, insane! But I think its mainly due to the brilliant books they had to go on and Jo's characters that made them epic to start with.

A thought crossed my mind. Harry Potter was born in 1980. His 7th year was in 1997 (conveniently the year JK Rowling started writing the series). 19 years after 1997 is 2016. The year when Albus Severus Potter first goes to Hogwarts. Albus has an older brother - James. Who goes to Hogwarts for the first time 1 year before him. Harry Potter’s first child is going to Hogwarts this September, pass it on

Haha, I think there is something wrong with my Pottermore ... 2016 years ago? This must be their way of telling me that I've been playing for too long

I pre-ordered the illustrated edition of the Philosopher's Stone. I can't wait for it to arrive, it looks beautiful.
