The staff has been discussing a possible Bandaids listening party for the album Love Sux on it's release weekend. In order to make a successful listening party, we need listeners and discussion posts.
Please respond to the poll by Friday, February 18th 11:59 PM EST to let us know if this is an event you would be interested in attending and participating in.

It all depends on its release schedule, because of all the different time zones. It will probably be released at midnight on the 25th of each country, so we will be getting it in different times. Unless it's not a premiere listening party lol, that would be simpler for everyone. Although it would be great to do a premiere one.

I'm interested! But as other also say: it depends what time and what platform. I have a Spotify account so that's the easiest for me. Would it be a good idea that the listening party is during the weekend? Like Saturday 26th? Maybe more people have time to join then?

Would it be a good idea that the listening party is during the weekend? Like Saturday 26th? Maybe more people have time to join then? Great minds think alike. What follows below is taken from the private staff area of the forum, where we talk about you guys behind your back. Since we are getting closer to the album release, I wanted to check in about the possible listening party again. If we would do this where we all start listening at the same time, we would of course need to decide date and time, then maybe post an announcement in advance. Since it drops officially on a Friday, it could maybe be done on the 25th in the evening if the staff is free to watch the thread and maybe participate. Open to suggestions for date and time and how to announce it if we go through with it. If we do it in the evening on Friday, all of Europe will be asleep. Why not wait until the next day? Maybe run a poll and see if there is any interest? True. That might allow for the most participation. A poll sounds like a good idea. I can't seem to find an easy way to do this. Since everyone will likely be using different streaming platforms, we will probably have to post start and stop times for each track. That way we can stay somewhat coordinated. If anyone has a better idea, please share.

I've never done it before, but if someone has Spotify (Premium), all the others apparently can join through discord. The person with Spotify chooses songs, and the others can listen.
I found this on google:
First, connect your Spotify account with Discord. You can do this from Settings -> Connections -> Spotify.
After linking Spotify and Discord, open Spotify and play some music. Now, when you switch back to Discord while playing music on Spotify, you will see a green play icon on the “+” upload file button in the message box.
Click on the green play button and choose the “Invite [user/channel] to Listen to Spotify” option. You can use this feature on public/ private Discord channels as well as personal DMs.
Your friend (or channel members) will now get an invite link. Now, all they have to do is click on the “Join” button in the invite to take part in the listening party. And, since the link is dynamic, it will automatically change the preview when you switch songs.
Note: You can either choose to pick and play songs manually or pick a playlist you wish to listen to with your friends or followers.

Wasnt there a listening party for AL where someone played all the songs in a row, like radio, and people could react in a chat? So everyone was listening to the stream and not on their own.
I would like if we could listen to the whole album, without any breaks or individual selection. Just the album from first to last song.

And do the people who are only joining have to download that app or something?

Yes discord is an app. For PC, Mobile, anything. Basically you create a profile (completely free) and you can join a server created by someone.
When you join a server (we could one of Bandaids) there is a chat where we can write, we can create kind of threads, send images, and actually there Is also an audio channel where people can all speak, It's used by GAMERS when playing a game and they can all say what they have to do even if they live kms away

I've actually been wondering if Bandaids had a Discord Server. I'm part of a couple Servers and it's really fun. I made some really close friends from all over the world via Discord during 2020. It's really cool you can have video calls with a bunch of people and just hang out. We've been doing some fun things with that, like movie nights, some of us play DnD together this way, did some small online parties during the pandemic for birhdays, christmas and what not. If there is interest in a Discord Server I'd be happy to help setting one up

Thanks for explaining gabbox and mario! I think it's a great way to listen and comment through such thing because the forums might be difficult to keep up with so many pages while listening and it would be so fun to listen at the same time and comment through a chat with fellow Bandaiders!!

FYI Discord can be used without their app. If there are any advantages to using the app, I don't know what they are. I have a Discord account and just use a browser.
My main concern is that using Discord might exclude potential participants who simply will not create an account for just this one event, and that might be the majority.
