NEWS/ Inside Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger's Split: The Spark ''Just Slowly Died Out''by Natalie Finn and Beth Sobol Wed., Sep. 2, 2015 2:24 PM PD  It's always sad when something two people were once so excited about ultimately fizzles. Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger announced today that they had separated after two years of marriage, Avril taking to Instagram to share the news in as positive a fashion as possible, even using a wedding pic to illustrate their previous togetherness. But according to a source, Lavigne had some time to figure out just how they were going to break the news. "Honestly, she's doing OK," the insider tells E! News. "This has been in the works for awhile." Well, if rumors and hearsay were to be believed, the split had been in the works since nearly day one. Kroeger told ET Canada in November 2014 that he found the chatter "amusing" and "ridiculous." But ultimately, life got too complicated for the couple. Lavigne revealed back in April that she was battling Lyme disease, and there have been long stretches where she's been MIA from the entertainment scene. She was back on stage just last Saturday, joining Taylor Swift for "Complicated" during the 1989 World Tour stop in San Diego. "Avril is still sick, so she's not working much—just here and there," our source said. "It's been a tough year. But these days, she's living in L.A. and has a very close, supportive group of friends. She's focused on her recovery but she knows it's going to take time." This was the second marriage for Lavigne and the first for Kroeger. "They talked about having kids but it just never happened," adds the source, who doesn't foresee the breakup turning bitter. "Chad is being supportive," the insider says. "At the end of the day, they just didn't see eye to eye on a lot of things." Moreover, "their friends and their social circles never really mixed." Interesting. Well all of Av's recent tweets about support from her friends is making sense now. It sounds like their connection came from making music together. And once Av was too sick to do that for several months, maybe that's when things changed.

Hearing that they had a spark that started from making music together and that it ultimately didn't last long and slowly died out, just shows how much better it would have been if they only stayed boyfriend and girlfriend, or even just engaged. Just as long as they hadn't got legally married I think things would have turned out better because they're split would not have been as big of a deal, neither emotionally, publicly, or financially. It's nice to know that Avril is doing well though (well enough I suppose). I guess the gradual decline in spark helped soften the inevitable blow.

Avril posted those pics with Chad 9 weeks ago (when her Lyme interview happened) and they seemed to have a good relationship. I'm sure there were things that happened before that, but something must have happened these last two months, something important that triggered the process of separation or was the "last straw". We'll likely never know, though. At least, separation looks amicable and not really traumatic like Deryck's, something positive from all this... |

How bad would have looked if Chad was like peace I want nothing to do with you right now and she on bedridden. If anything he had to wait it out to make himself look good and do it after she came out and said she was doing better. The people around him would have told him to wait it out until she better cuz it wouldn't have looked good in the media if he didn't wait. Not saying he doesn't care about her health but like you said there was that "source" and Avril didn't really say much about Chad being there for her either. It felt like a lot of other people were but not Chad. |

Alcohol abuse is usually bad for relationships. If there are problems in a relationship, alcohol usually makes them worse. When a marriage goes bad, there are usually many causes. |
