I went to States a few times. To be honest, from a European point of view, LA is very far and absolutely not worth. I don't know where you live though.
Actually all the cities I visited in America like LA, Vegas, Miami were a bit disappointing compared to amazing beauties I'm more used to like Rome, Venice, Amsterdam or London (San Francisco was an exceptional surprise instead).. So I wouldn't suggest anybody to go there just for LA, and even less just for the walk of fame. The area in Hollywood is absolutely nothing special and it's just a pavement where you walk so you will find it also dirty lol.
But if you plan a trip to West Coast to visit also San Francisco, grand canyon, antelope canyon and monument valley as I did, well yes I highly recommend you because those places are unique and when I went to Grand Canyon I think I almost cried from the beauty. LA itself..is.. ok-ish, not worth 12-hour flight at all.
About the ceremony I was thinking: Where is Caryn Alpert ?!

Agree.. I found LA really quite grim when we went. Wouldn’t go back in a rush.
I do find it strange her parents weren’t there? She obviously has more than enough money to fly them out from Canada. Obviously might be reasons we don’t know about but seems a strange thing for parents to miss.

Is that true there always are traffic jam in LA due to the unbalanced proportion of land and roads?

I'm in England, but not near a major airport, so would require a connection then 10 hour flight. Avril has been such a major part of my life for the past 20 years, so a good few things on my bucket list have always been to do with her. Achieved the main one of seeing her in person. All I thought was left to do was meet her and visit La Pizzeria but now I feel like a visit to her star should be on as well. Just a shame what your all saying about LA as I'm 40 next year and looking for something to mark it. Although I do go and see Avril just days before my actual birthday!

It was just my opinion about the city, because the trip itself to California was one of the best in my life so do it.. but yes, I would suggest you rent a car and drive around also, the national parks are breathtaking and don't go for the star only if I can give you an advice.. I would be excited to come back now with Avril star ngl so if it will happen I will go back for sure ! and maybe I would add different parts of California I didn't make in time to visit last time.. I'm so curious about places and I love travels so much that I believe every place is worth a visit once in a lifetime and California is surely one of those places

About the ceremony I was thinking: Where is Caryn Alpert ?! This is the question I’ve been wondering too. She is her best friend, right?! We haven’t seen her in ages. Obviously there’s millions of reasons for that and it doesn’t have to mean that they’ve fallen out. But I still wonder where was she.

I'm pretty sure she helped design the engagement ring Mod got for her (or he at least bought it from her store) so presumably they are still very good friends.

Truly emotional moment as an Avril fan cause i think as much as she didn't need a star on the walk of fame to prove her worth and icon status i think it's still gratifying and a proud moment for us fans...plus i just received my Love Sux autographed album like 2 days ago after such a long wait...such a great week to be an Avril fan. I loved her outfit and how she was holding back tears before the big reveal. Side note though she was kinda rude to the woman who presented the event..like this part was soooo cringe to watch...but what's an Avril event without a cringe moment haha!! Glad Evan made it...wish we had a pic of them together... the moment she shared with Lauren was beyond precious! Mgk's speech was a true fanboy speech and echoed our feelings for Avril as an inspiration..Feldy's speech was nice but the swearing though 😅

I would not recommend going to Hollywood just to see her star if it's a long destination. It's not a glamorous place but if you do, go during the day. Be careful like you would in any major city but for sure don't go at night. There aren't many cops around. LA is grim but there are a lot of beautiful places surrounding it. The beaches, the mountains, the parks to go on hikes. The Greek Theatre where Avril played once is in Griffith Park and it's a very beautiful place inside the city. Traffic will be a nightmare anywhere you go. But yeah if you take a trip to LA you might as well go to San Diego, a national park, surrounding areas, not the city unless you're going to Disneyland.

As a fan since 2002 I am really happy for Avril. I grew up with her music and seeing her reach this milestone fills me with joy. Even without the "star" Avril was already an icon but I understand that for her, her family is a source of great pride!

I wonder when she'll get a star on Canada's Walk of Fame too.
