Did you by chance happen to find my review of Avril's concert? I'm a bit sad I don't have it anymore. I didn't see it, but I didn't look through all parts of the forum. If you remember which sub-forum is was in, I might be able to find it. I think we had a section called Tour Bus or something that was all about Avril's concerts.

I think we had a section called Tour Bus or something that was all about Avril's concerts. Could it be this? AL Tour Mashantucket CT Review Okay so I've been a fan since 2002 but this was my first time seeing Avril live. My friend (non-Avril fan) and I went to see her at the MGM Grand Theater (seats about 4,000) at Foxwoods in Mashantucket, CT, the last show of the AL Tour. Our seats were in the Orchestra Right, Row Q, seats 18 and 20. We weren't really close to the stage but we weren't far from it either. I just want to say to everyone WOW!!!! I will tell you all right now that YouTube videos DO NOT do Avril's concerts justice AT ALL. I really recommend seeing her live in person, if you get the chance, because the videos just don't compare to the real thing. The setlist was basically the same as it's been but she added Hush Hush as the special "fan request" and dedicated it to Sharifa and Bandaids. And she brought Chad out for LMG as a special surprise! It was so cool! There was not one bad song in the whole show. The sound system was amazing, the band was amazing, and Avril's voice was awesome for the whole show. I always thought I would be one of those people who'd be like "I'm not going to sing along, I'm just going to sit and listen." Well that really didn't happen lol. I was screaming the whole time, singing along, waving my arms in the air- just about everything a fan can do lol. I lost my voice screaming and a few times I yelled "I love you Avril!!!!" and things like that, even though I knew she couldn't hear them. The energy in the room was just incredible. I couldn't help but just sing along to every word and her vocals were just powerful and flawless on songs like IWY (that was the best song of the whole concert). My only complaint really is I just wish the setlist had been longer. It was so much fun and it was a great show and I didn't want to leave. It also would have been nice if she played more AL songs like 17, BS, etc. She also didn't play HK which I thought was strange. But now I totally get why she plays all the hits and mostly upbeat songs- they are the ones I really enjoyed most because I could sing along and it felt amazing to be able to sing along with your idol. And it was really cool to hear the hits in person that I've heard so many times on TV. I think the upbeat songs and hit singles are fine if she's going to play theaters or arenas, but if she were to do very small theaters like the size of Roxy Theater or clubs like The Viper Room then I think that's where a more intimate setlist would work with more ballads. The setlist is boring if you just watch it on YouTube, but when you are actually there it's just perfect. I wouldn't have it any other way except maybe some more AL songs like 17, BS, YASNY, etc. thrown in. I feel so lucky I was able to see her since I know many Bandaiders couldn't that wanted to, and I also feel lucky to have gotten to see her when she was at one of her best moments. I think she was very happy that it was the last show and that's why she performed so well I did take a few photos and some short videos that I will post tomorrow. They are pretty bad quality though and I'm sure you will hear me singing badly in some of them. That's another reason why I don't recommend watching her YouTube videos. It is just better when you're there in person, the videos don't do it justice at all. It looks like a boring, nothing special concert on YouTube, but in person it's perfect. Forgive me if I might remember the setlist order wrong but I'll do my best to remember the order. So for the start of the show we didn't get the video where she thanks all the fans for their support but instead it was a montage of all her music videos with a rock track over it. Then she came out and sang GF, which was awesome. Everyone was jumping up and down and singing along. It was a lot of fun to sing the "hey hey you you" parts! Then next I think she sang RNR and HTNGU, which were also very fun to sing along with. And then IAGWIW which was fun, energetic, rocking. She did that really high note at the end. It got a little bit piercing for a second, like the sound system couldn't handle it, but she worked it out by the end and it was incredible. Then she went offstage and her band played a medley that sounded like some combination of Unwanted and some other songs, it was kind of hard to tell. Then she came back onstage and sang MHE with her guitar. The only disappointing thing was she didn't go for the big note on "We were done." But she changed the melody a little in the verses, which was new and different. Not like drastically different from the original, just a little different, I'm sure someone can post a video. Then I think she did Hush Hush as the fan request, dedicated to Sharifa and Bandaids. The vocals were pretty good. Then DTM, except I saw her gesturing like she was strumming her guitar but no one brought her guitar out so she played it without her guitar and she dedicated it to all her female fans in the audience. Then she was talking about a "surprise" that she had and I was thinking "I read Bandaids, so I doubt I will be surprised since the setlist is always the same" and she started singing LMG, so at first I thought that was the "surprise" but then when the 2nd verse kicked in, I heard Chad's voice and he came out from backstage and started singing with her! It was so cool! I got some video of it. I definitely don't think they have any problems in their marriage, they seemed to have fun singing it together and Chad kissed Avril on the head a few times. It was so nice and sweet. I was definitely surprised! After LMG was the song of the night- IWY!!!!! Holy. Shit. Her vocals sounded the best on this song than they ever have. I took some video of most of the song but I hope someone can post a good video of it for you all. It was incredible. Her voice was ringing out through the whole theater and the crowd was singing along with her. She hit all the high notes perfectly. It was just amazing to hear her sing it live in person. It was the highlight of the night for me and I'm glad I got most of it on video, even though I'm sure it won't possibly do it justice at all. Then she did some of the rockier songs like Bad Girl, HW, and then she went offstage and Rodney had a big drum solo. BG was better than it usually is and HW was cool, she had her guitar that time. Then after Rodney's solo she came back out and did Sk8er Boi and introduced her band, which I got on video. Then she and the band went offstage as if the concert was over (of course I knew that it wasn't hehe) and people were clapping for more so she came out and did her encore of Song 2 on the drums (so cool to watch in person!), WTH (so much fun to sing to), and Complicated as the closing number. Most of the people in the audience seemed to be kids with their parents but I saw several adults wearing AL Tour shirts so… I'm pretty sure I saw the Bandaids crew in the front row, Avril came out during Sk8er Boi wearing a baseball hat which she gave to, I'm assuming, Sharifa or one of the other Bandaiders. And she took time during Sk8er Boi to sign autographs for those in the front row, which I also got on video. There may have been a few moments here and there where she didn't try for big notes or the weird accent came out a little, I can't remember now which song it was, but there was a song she sang where she had a weird accent thing going on that sounded weird, but all in all, it was an incredible concert. It was worth every penny to me! I wish we could have gotten a DVD. The only things that really bothered me at all were the short setlist and maybe lack of more AL songs, but the thing that really REALLY annoyed me was everyone around me was so dead! A few people behind me and a few in front and the Bandaiders in the front row were jumping and pumping their fists in the air, but most of the others around me stood there the whole time and did nothing. Even when she asked us to sing along or wave our arms in the air they just didn't do anything. I was like "What the fuck are you even doing at an Avril concert if you don't even want to sing along or move to the music?" :dizzy: For tour merch, I bought a tour program and the HTNGU hoodie, which was an extra $20 to get it there instead of online but I didn't care. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience so I wanted to get it while I could. The thing is, there is a policy where once you walk out of the theater you can't go back in, even if you still have your ticket, and before I wasn't going to buy the AL Tour t-shirt because I didn't like the photo on the front so I didn't buy it, but then after we walked out my friend said I could always wear it for a pajama shirt so I wanted to go back in and get it but the security guard wouldn't let me. So I figured I would just order it on her store website and it's $10 cheaper there anyway. In your face, stupid security guard! :heh: All in all, it was fun and amazing. I am so thankful I had this opportunity when I know many fans didn't. I know many fans did not get the best show or best setlist from her and I feel very lucky that I did. I feel very lucky I got to see Chad come out and perform with her as well. I would certainly do it all over again if I could! If this show was good, I can only imagine how good her shows were in UMS/TBDT eras. I had such a great time, singing along to all her songs and dancing until I felt tired, and screaming until I lost my voice. It was definitely worth every penny to me. Once again, the YouTube videos simply do not do her any justice. You really have to watch her perform in person to see for yourself just how good of a singer and performer she actually is. I'll update this post tomorrow with my photos and videos and I'm sure some others who were there will write reviews as well. I only wish she could have been more consistent throughout the tour and given a great show almost every night. Great show, Avril! Thank you for proving me wrong. I was hoping you would. Keep rocking! Edit: Here's my video! To view the link you have to Register I apologize to everyone now for my general horribleness Bad singing, changing camera angles, fingers getting in the way, etc. I hope you enjoy it anyway and get a sense of what it was like to be there. I think it was the most fun I've ever had at anything in my whole life. Getting to rock out with my favorite artist ever is just about the best thing you can do in life, I think.

I also found other things while on my search like the BA dictionary, some people's signatures, the forum rules, the old staff list, the 18+ forum, etc. It was pretty cool to see some of this stuff. Because BA.com is nonfunctional, the archives don't look like the forum did and are a little confusing, but still cool to see. Ha! I'd forgotten about that. If you could work your magic and recover at least the first post of that thread, that would be cool.

So if I didn't post yours, it's because I either didn't recognize/remember your name or I didn't find it in the archives. That site is great! Thank you for sharing it with us. Thanks to that I could find the MOTM signature that Amanda had made for me when I won in September last year, and I could find my AL Tour and M&G review as well!

Heeeyyy, yeah, I'm there too. There are a lots of names that I remember. Yeah, I made my account so long ago, but I started to use it daily around 2012-2013. Great to see the old members. Such a great site <3

I didn't change my username but I think I joined somewhere around the start of thr TBDT era as the new music and stuff at that point got me linked to the site and a while after that I joined. At the latest probably 2008 sometime. Would be cool to know the date again though? If anyone can find mine. No luck with our old post counts or anything? Suppose thats a bit of a stretch anyway

It's not stretch to find our old post counts, they are there just like our join dates, along with out locations, real names, twitter handles, custom titles, badges, etc. if we had them. The only problem is, our post counts (as well as the other stuff) won't be up to date. Depending on when a thread was archived, the information will be outdated.
If you are one of the lucky ones to get a post archived in mid to late 2014, then you'll have pretty accurate info.
