I think James Dean was a pretty cool icon. I've only seen two of his three films but I loved him in them. As Andy Warhol said, "James Dean was the damaged but beautiful soul of our time." Just an amazing actor, an amazing human being. He was great in "East of Eden". So sad he died so young. Just raw natural talent. He hasn't got many more to be fair. But yes, such a loss. Anyways, for some things I have read, he would have probably had an unhappy life. Hollywood toyed him heavily while he lived and probably would have done it for as long as they could. I've been thinking about your comment and I'm not sure he would have had an unhappy life. I just think he was unlucky and died in a terrible accident. To what extent his fame or impending fame played a part I don't know. I think maybe he was just a bit young and reckless and got himself killed, easily done.

It was more about the way some people in the upper steps of the Hollywood ladder treated him. They tried to exploit his sentimental life and forged fake stories about him for the sake of publicity. They basically made up a life for him to act in his free time. He had already been abused in his childhood. And most importantly, he was a lover of solitude who would have had to put up with Hollywood required exposure, which obviously was something he disliked- he didn't attend to the East of Eden preview just because he preferred to watch the movies days later as an anonymous person. I feel that if you join all those dots and take into account what a steamroller Hollywood was back then, he would have ended up being really unhappy.

I read his biography when I was younger and I must admit I remember very little of it, sorry. I got the impression he led quite a happy life except for the loss of his mother when he was young. Maybe he would have just been very rich and very happy...like Avril! lol!

My favorite film ever is Scream. The whole Scream series actually, even the third one that most of the people actually say it's bad.

My current favorite movie right now is Natural Born Killers (1994). The whole movie is awesome in general, and inspired my art style.

This is so hard for me I have a few different favorites, it's so hard to pick just one! But I'll name a few: - The Nightmare Before Christmas (hands-down my favorite) - The Machinist - Alice In Wonderland (Disney 1951) - Velvet Goldmine

I never mentioned how much I love American Beauty! It’s actually the first movie I remember watching like ten times in a row and I still simply love it.
