I think her vocals are better in the studio of course, however for me it's not all about vocals neither but about emotions and stage presence. I love when she performs Nobody's Home live because usually she builds the song up, first only guitar, then the whole band, which is something I like.

Normally, I prefer the polished studio version of a song. But there are some songs I mostly like listening to the live version of, such as Nobody's Home acoustic, WYWH, Smile, Unwanted (Live Budokan), WTH, EBBY, Push (Walmart Soundcheck) and HTNGU acoustic. There are some others as well, but I can't think of any at the moment.

I preferred the remix of Girlfriend live when Avril did Lil Mama's bit.

I used to say live.. and I mean mostly her Budokan performance. But lately is her pronunciation of soms songs just bad.. like Hush Hush.. beautiful song but her pronuncation while singing it ruins the whole song.. And what about Innocence.. while singing live she just leaves the 'long-breathtaking-part' out (you guys know what I mean? I don't know how to say that in English) But that part MAKES the song and live it's just boring without it. She has more songs I'm dying to hear live but when I hear them I think: meh... she leaves things out.

I think that you mean the "It's so beautiful it makes you wanna CRYYY" part and she made the audience sing it. I bet she probably did that because she probably either couldn't hit those notes live or was afraid to try and mess it up.

But even tho she couldn't hit those notes, she could try. Fans would understand if it wasn't exactly the same note as the album version but would be proud she even sang it, at least I would be proud! I like her but singing while leaving those parts out of a live performance just lacks enthousiasm.

I've noticed in some live performances she won't go for the big note in MHE either. It's disappointing when she doesn't go for high notes but at the same time as a singer I understand. Some days your voice just isn't as good as other days. Women's menstrual cycles can also affect their ability to hit high notes because of the hormones so I understand if maybe she wasn't feeling well or whatever that she might not want to sing the high notes. It, in fact, can even be damaging to her voice if she tried to hit those notes while her voice was in that condition. I'm sure Avril knows how far she can/should push her voice, depending on how she's feeling, so that she doesn't risk any damage. In the end it's more important that she keep her voice healthy for the next show rather than having to cancel halfway into a tour because of vocal issues or risk damaging her voice.

True and those examples you say sounds quite obvious and could be the case but lately it seems like she always is on her period or something like that; Not feeling well etc. Anyway, I bet shes using birth control so will it have the same effects each month as if shes not using birth control? But thats another discussion and not so appropiate to talk about her birth control situation so I stop ^_^

But her pronunciation while singing it ruins the whole song.. I read somewhere that by pronouncing like that, her mistakes during her live performances are easily overlooked. So she's consciously doing it for her own benefit.

the funny thing is, her making that accent for ease of singing makes her miss notes more than anything...

I didn't knew she does it for her own benefit.. In the past she didn't do that.. I wonder why she wants to cover Some mistakes so badly... When she hears how she sings live like that she must also think: that sounds weird..

When she hears how she sings live like that she must also think: that sounds weird.. It has nothing to do with covering mistakes. It's for ease of singing. Especially when on tour. You need to make sure you're singing in a way that you're not straining or effing up your voice, and any hard vowel sounds will close up the throat and make you strain to reach higher notes. A small adjustment of rounding out the vowels should suffice, but she's doing an extreme which is unneeded. I am a singer and vowel mods are something I learned when I was 15. I made the mistake of going overboard like Avril has been doing and it's not pretty LOL
