IMO, when a band says that their new album's going to be a masterpiece, it's always a flop album. That's what "Drones" is. The most polarizing album they have ever created. Was it a flop? I thought it did well and that fans liked it? Their tour however, first night with the proper stage... Drones 1) Reapers 2) Drill Sergeant + Psycho 3) Dead Inside (no guitar) 4) Plug In Baby Isolated System 5) The Handler 6) Interlude + Hysteria 7) Supermassive Black Hole 8) Prelude + Starlight 9) Apocalypse Please Munich Jam 10) Madness 11) Undisclosed Desires 12) JFK + Revolt 13) Time Is Running Out 14) Uprising (no guitar) 15) The Globalist + Drones 16) Mercy 17) Man With A Tired Intro + Knights Of Cydonia It's bad...

Hmmm, maybe the fans were incredibly harsh on Drones only in my country? That's what I saw in the Korean Muse forum when I visited there for concert informations. And it's also my least favorite album....

Fair enough, was pretty well received here in the UK, Mercy got a lot of radio play. Tbf though, I'm not too keen on the album as a whole. Dead Inside -> The Handler is strong, Defector is ok, then Revolt and Aftermath just kills it. I still can't remember how Aftermaths sounds, it's such a bore for me.

Though I dislike Drones, I think Mercy's music video is amazing..

It's one of the few, not too keen on their music videos, don't think I've even seen them all.

Puh. I haven't listened to Muse for in like yeaaars. I know I liked their older work, but kind of got enough off them when they started making soundtracks for Twilight. So the last album I listened to was Black Holes and Revelations. I loved Map Of The Problematique and City Of Delusion. My favorite record was always Absolution though. It was just really revealing for its time and quite unique. Electronical elements were still rare and sometimes awfully used, but Muse knew how to combine rock with modern beats and vibes. This was one of my favorite, cause it's so between minimalism and explosions and quite Muse:
I always loved Stockholm Syndrome. One of their best songs ever written.
I actually always loved Muse for their act of drama. The feeling as if the world's ending and you are standing on the side of a hill watching it all fall apart. But somehow in all its destruction and your fear of losing it's a romantic thing to do.
Absolution reminds me a lot of Placebo's Battle For the Sun album and especially their song "Julien", it's got the same vibe and story to tell.

Absolution is probably my favourite album by them too. I know that it's likely a stereotype but Starlight is also likely my favourite song by them, in a close tie with Bliss. I also like Knights of Cydonia and Fillip a lot; the last one is, to me probably their best "less known" track. I like about them, besides their dramatic mise-en-scene and Bellamy's incredible vocal range, the fact that they seem to be obsessed about science-to the extreme of naming an album "The 2nd Law (of Thermodynamics)"- that sort of hit home with me because it's the physical principle that has always fascinated me the most. The album was a minor let down, though
