oh my gosh, with practice, friend. with practice you'll get the hang of it! ouo I've been drawing with a tablet since I was 16 and it took a while to get used to. but thank you !!! all together? maybe 15-20 mins??? your art is so cool though! it's so fluid and I love the colors! I'd never be able to do THAT 15 - 20 mins is quite impressive. Well, patience can help you with a lotta things I suppose. I have to admit I'm not the most patient person there is, it's more the other way around. I never really liked drawing with programs, so I guess my patience there is pretty thin. I think it can be fun, when you know what you're doing. I have to work with adobe illustrator and it really creeps me out. But I guess it just needs time. And thanks. That is very impressive. It took me quite a while to finish my Frozen drawing with markers and pastels, but my Photoshop version took me even longer... (okay, sometimes I worked on it during lessons, meaning I had to focus on the stuff every now and then) But Mohican, I feel you with Illustrator, it creeps me out too. I rather use Photoshop and when I really have to InDesign...

Ilustrator's just a bitch cause you know what you could do with it, but you just don't get it done the way you want to. What I can manage barely are technical drawings like these: but that's about it (so far). Modern times however require a certain 'talent' to mange tools just like Adobe Illustrator. Especially company's require modern techniques when it comes to fashion drawings and I know people who are really up for this, drawing things like: or and that's just really hard if not impossible when you're hanging on thin patience. But I am not giving up. At least I'm trying not to.

I'm also thinking about getting a Drawing tablet after Christmas; does anyone have any they could recommend? I see Wacom seems to be the most popular but they're pretty damn expensive and I'm not sure how long their sale on amazon will last

I myself own an Aiptek 600u slim tablet, but they do not produce any tablets anymore. A friend of mine on the other hand has a Wacom Intuos of the former selection (they have newer models now). She bought the small one for money reason, mine is about the medium size they offer. When we two compared the sizes she was a bit jealous, since it's more comfortable to work with a bit more space. But talking about how well the tablet reacts to its pencil, Wacom is better. I had to search for my specific drivers to make the pencil react nicely, the ones delivered just didn't really do the job. Overall I believe it is better to invest into a Wacom model and ask for money for Christmas. By the way, until I figured out my driver problem I had to really run the pen across the pad - the pad is fine, but my pen not so much. With Wacom, since it is so popular, you have better chances to be able to just replace the pen or tips if you had to. If you have more questions just ask - I'm probably not able to answer everything but maybe I can share other experience

You'll see I don't use it only for drawing but also when I'm too lazy to use the mousepad or the actual mouse, for my it's simply more comfortable, that's why I sometimes take it to school with me

The drawing method you use for the 1st and the last one is interesting, it mustn't be that easy! My favorite is the last one, I love the whole drawing, especially the reflection in the water which is well-made.

My favorite is the last one, I love the whole drawing, especially the reflection in the water which is well-made. It's based on Pointillism, an art movement, which gets dated from 1889 to 1910. The most famous painting is this piece by Georges Seurat: It's a technique people continued doing even after the movement was replaced by more recent art and techniques. It formerly stood for a new world preception, cause drawing with dots only was quite rebellious during that time. This is by a well known street artist, Jimmy C and it's used for the entrance of a club in Berlin at the RAW. I love that piece and everytime I pass it, I have to take a closer look. That technique has become quite popular around street artists and I totally get why.

So, I did a new drawing yesterday. I was very into aquarelle. It's quite dark, I can't even tell why. I am actually quite okay these days, but so what. The drawing can be related to the book I'm working on. There's this female and she's got a second her inside or outside her head at times. There's a scene where she's standing in a street at night and her second self appears in the form of a wolve (yes, very redcap) and she's arguing with it. So the drawing stands for interaction with you and your other self, a version you may not want to have.

Now I'm not so sure if I should really post the little sketch I did at school yesterday...

Oh and you manage to draw with different techniques and 'tools' , I was wondering which one was your favourite ? or the one you're most comfortable with for your drawings ?

That is a very good question indeed. I find it quite interesting what techniques people prefer! Personally, I love to either colour with Photoshop by using my graphic tablet or use Copic markers. Expensive but nice to work with

Expensive but nice to work with TheRaven, are you studying art ? as I've seen you somewhere talking about some arts class.. I'd love to be able to draw with some technology (Photoshop or a tablet) but I suck with these.. I'm way too traditional when it comes to drawing (I just use a simple pen or paintbrushes with acrylic paint), what I enjoy painting the most are landscape! And what about you ?
