That is a very good question indeed. I find it quite interesting what techniques people prefer! Personally, I love to either colour with Photoshop by using my graphic tablet or use Copic markers. Expensive but nice to work with TheRaven, are you studying art ? as I've seen you somewhere talking about some arts class.. I'd love to be able to draw with some technology (Photoshop or a tablet) but I suck with these.. I'm way too traditional when it comes to drawing (I just use a simple pen or paintbrushes with acrylic paint), what I enjoy painting the most are landscape! And what about you ? No, I'm not studying art. I attent a school for media design and communication. We do have a 3D-Animation class, and Photoshop for one year, drawing in general is more of an old hobby of mine. I have my fair amount of drawings which I've done with pens, markers, watercolours, pastel chalk or pencils. A friend of mine does amazing drawings with ink or pencil, they look phenomenal! But ever since starting with Photoshop I've fallen in love with that, but to me my Copic markers are still the best. I have quite a few, they are sooo damn good to work with, especially when shading! Since my school schedule got busier I sketch a few things every now and then, but bigger drawings are a thing of the past. Well, aside from the Frozen drawing I did in summer. Biggest project in quite a while. I might dig it out and post it here. My sketches usually are only made of pencil.

Seeing all of your amazing stuff makes me wanna post some of my paintings, I used to paint a lot a few years ago, here are 3 of them I did 5 years ago, they're now hung on my wall collecting dust , I'm sorry for the quality my phone is not so recent : - A Royal Navy ship
- A small village and some cherry trees near the Mount Fuji, Japan - A Japanese pagoda on an island

that looks amazing! Now I'm not so sure if I should really post the little sketch I did at school yesterday... Thanks. Sure you should! Don't make yourself small. Amazingly done as usual ! What is this book you're reading ? Oh and you manage to draw with different techniques and 'tools' , I was wondering which one was your favourite ? or the one you're most comfortable with for your drawings ? Thanks.(: It's no book I am reading, but a book I've been writing on for 2 years now. It's nearly finished, but it may take another while to give it the finishing touch. I don't think I have just one favorite technique, it's more like it depends on what I want to do or say. I love drawing with pencils if it's someting black and grey, cause it allows you a very accurate way of drawing. When I feel like using color I prefer chinese ink or aquarelle, cause the element water adds an elegant finishing touch. Acryl for example is a really rough and accurate technique, it doesn't allow much freedom. I used to love painting with acryl cause the colors appear really bold on canvas, but lately I'm just really into expressing moments or trying to capture them, so I like some kind of movement in my pictures. It's often a spontaneous choice, though. How old were you when you did your drawings? The photos are really bad, but it looks like you put a lot of energy into 'em and I like it when someone's passionate. (:

Yep the quality sucks, I'll try to take better pics. I used to be really passionate about painting or drawing in general when I was younger but today I have some kind of ' aversion' of it as in high school I had an art teacher that was annoying asking every week to do some kind of specific drawing and I just hate being 'forced' or under pressure/having a limited time to do something.. In general I'm not really a ' creative' or ' inventive' person, I guess that's why I'd rather paint landscape that exists instead of just something that my mind 'would create'.. Anyway, I like reading how you talk about art, you truly are a talented and passionate artist!

It's hard functioning all the time, eventhough sometimes you're missing the muse. Did you draw these landscapes by sight or imagination? Landscapes never really drove me, but I used to draw aztec cities and waterfalls in jungles when I was little. Thank you, too much honey on my lips.

So, I did a new drawing yesterday. I was very into aquarelle. It's quite dark, I can't even tell why. I am actually quite okay these days, but so what. The drawing can be related to the book I'm working on. There's this female and she's got a second her inside or outside her head at times. There's a scene where she's standing in a street at night and her second self appears in the form of a wolve (yes, very redcap) and she's arguing with it. So the drawing stands for interaction with you and your other self, a version you may not want to have. Oh my God! This looks incredible!

Thank you, too much honey on my lips. I used to draw by sight, those landscapes were from some geography and history book.. if I do anything by imagination I always fail or I'm not happy with the results. I guess I need some 'model' to do a correct job or maybe to comfort my impression that the result is good. Nice drawings! I think you should draw more often. These are awesome and you should have kept it up. Thank you so much helloheartache , well lately I do not draw anymore but I'm into (re)creating some covers for Avril songs, I don't know why I find it pretty entertainting and it trains me to some cheap creation software...

Anyway, I like reading how you talk about art, you truly are a talented and passionate artist! I understand, as I have an art teacher like this now. She doesn't ask though for a specific drawing every week. Just every single term. She never allows us to draw whatever we want to draw. She just tells us what she wants us to do next as a "piece of work" and gives us a "deadline", on which everyone must have finished it and show it on the entire class. It sucks as I not only do I have limited time to do what I have to do, but also no "creative freedom" at all. As a kid, I used to adore and look forward to art classes, but now I hate them. I dread the very moment she comes in and tell us the next thing we have to do.

Was bored at school a few days ago and started drawing. This is what I did. Some drawings I found in my previous notebook that I did while I was also bored at school.

Love it! Your first drawings really make me think about making some anime/manga drawings sometime in the future. Maybe I'll make some during the holidays.

Mangas are my favourite to draw, but especially Chibis! Cute little head but little body and big eyes to play with. Absolutely the best if you ask me
