Monet ♥ Really nice Beba is an excellent artist, but the guy I'm talking about was a completely different artist. He was definitely a guy, which should help clear up any confusion. But oh well I'll just drop this now

If I remember it right beba had stopped posting on our Bandaids when the Italian came out. So it's possible some members don't remember her. Here are some of her drawings: These are taken from her Twitter acc. I can't seem to find her other drawings. I guess she doesn't have her website anymore where all of them were displayed. Right, she is so talented. I always loved looking through her drawings!

So, recentely at nude drawing I wanted to use some color (I usually draw with pencils only, cause it turns out to be more percise in the end). and maybe that doesn't really belong here, since this thread is called Drawing, but I wanted to share a piece of fashion I am working on at the moment. It's a coat and the lining (which can also be used as the outside of the coat) is 'decorated' with a pattern I painted with acrylic paint. Looking forward to your thoughts.

Mohican. You never fail to impress me with your drawings! I really like the nude drawing you made! I also like the colors you used to paint it. You did a really good job making this.

Thanks I tried to indicate the human muscular sturctures, which isn't that easy to be honest. But it was fun trying. You have to be really quick working, too. For the first picture we had 15 mins, for the other two 30 mins. I used aquarelle so I had to presketch everything and then work with water to blend the colors. Anyone who's interested in drawing with color should try something like that sometime. Aquarelle allows you to control your lines, since you can use the pencils without water like any other pencil. So you can control where the water goes and correct lines before adding the finishing touches.

Lately, I've been trying to draw as much as I can in order to improve my drawing skills/abillities. I've also been trying a few new things, such as trying to draw mangas, aliens, monsters and chibis. But one thing I've noticed about my drawings is that a lot of the time, there is some assymetry in the eyes or when I draw the body of a person, many times, it turns out looking improportionate somehow. Is there anyone here, who knows and can give me a few tips on how I can make the face of a person look more symmetrical, as well as how I can make a person's body look somehow more realistic?

I believe that symetry comes with practise, the more you draw, the better you get. Obvious when I look back at the Pokemon drawings, or some of the first attempts on Anime characters. Don't give up Back then I got a drawing book with tutorials as a present, biggest help for me when doing faces were some basic lines. There are more you can do, for the mouth, tip of the nose, hair line etc. but those are the ones I've worked with ever since. As for more realistic bodies... I'm no help. There's a reason I stick with mainly Chibis and little fluffy pets.

Devide the face before you start drawing. The 'perfect' face builds itself out of 4 vertical lines and 5 horizontals. Draw these lines so you won't forget where to put your next line. They help a lot. Of course you can change them, but when you do you know what you do different. Expect that I can only say practise and practise. Try that technique on people you know, like when a friend comes over to visit you you draw them for like 10 minutes, kinda placing them into these pre-drawn lines. Try to get a feeling for the humans proportions, in the end you won't even have to think about it and it comes naturelly.

DON'T try to emulate other styles and don't try to go stylistic when you're starting out. You have to have a foundation, and that foundation is realistic proportions. I recommend this site for all the proportion help you'll need for the face and head, but don't be afraid to search elsewhere: www.stanprokopenko.com/blog/2009/05/draw-head-any-angle/That site has help for eyes, lips, mouths, ANYTHING on the head and face in a realistic way. Also, for the head, I recommend drawing maybe 20-50 ovals on a page and for each one, set up the guidelines you'll learn from that site and keep doing it till you get it down. The guidelines for the eyes and mouth and nose and eyebrows. Just keep doing that every day till you can say you're comfortable with doing the guidelines without looking to the site for help. You'll find the more you do them, the faster you get at drawing them. Have fun though! You can draw them at different angles! Find pictures of actual people and try to match proportions. Then when it comes to details, do the same thing. Set up like 50 ovals for the eyes and practice different eyes. Look at the diagram and understand what makes an eye an eye and just do THAT for a while till you're comfortable, then you can play with it! Play with the shape, play with the eyelashes, play with the pupils, play with everything! And just do that for all the parts and just DRAW and have fun learning! ouo here's my little tidbits ... it's kinda sketchy though and my handwriting is poo but i think u get the gist enjoy the doodleboy child thing i was pressed for time so it not pretty
