Britney has announced today that her 9th studio album Glory will be released on August 26th! She also revealed the cover: She described it as "the beginning of a new era." I hope that and the title/cover are indicative of a new direction for her. "Make Me" has grown on me a lot more but I hope that there will be some more meaningful songs on this album than her others. I think it's time. I've been listening to all her albums each day, playing 1 album per day, and tomorrow I will be onto Britney Jean. After hearing all of them in a row, it's kind of just the same thing over and over, all songs about sex or partying. When you hear them all in a row you start to realize how shallow a lot of her music really is, which I realize isn't exactly shocking to anyone, but I think it is time for her to release some more meaningful stuff at this point in her life.

I feel like they made a bad choice for her first single. From the previews I've heard, there are songs that are stronger and better represent the entire record. It's reminiscent of her toxic days. Do you wanna come over should be next single IMO >>

Listened to some of the tracks, not many standouts, but "Liar" is the best thing she's released in years, it is amazingly good! Reminds me so much of the Britney from the early 2000's. Definitely the best track on that record.

Although there are still some cheesy formula of dance pop songs, but I'm glad she is trying to make something unequal to the typical pop songs on chart. The entire album sounds like a mixture of R&B and Dance Pop

This is my impression after 1 listen:
I think the album is actually better than I was thinking it was going to be (after listening to the iTunes previews). It reminds me of a combination of the sounds of In the Zone, Blackout, and Femme Fatale thrown together. It's an okay album. But it doesn't hold a candle to her classics like BOMT, Oops, Britney, Blackout, etc. I'm disappointed once again that all the songs seem to be about the same thing and there's really nothing of substance on here. For an album called "Glory" it isn't very glorious. I was hoping for some songs about how she overcame her personal struggles or something, that was something I liked about the Britney Jean album (Alien, Passenger, Don't Cry, Brightest Morning Star, Now That I Found You). The album sounds like it would be fun to play in the car or at a party but... it's just so shallow, like basically all her other albums are. The only thing "new" I really see here is that she experimented a little bit with some different sounds but not a whole lot. Otherwise... it's the same old same old from her and is basically Femme Fatale 2.0 IMO. It's not her best.
Thoughts on each track:
1. Invitation - 4/5 It's okay, a bit of a strange way to open the album with such a soft and slow song. It is, however, probably one of the better tracks.
2. Do You Wanna Come Over? (For some reason the CD version has this listed as track 2 while iTunes has it as #6 I think) 3/5 - Reminds me too much of "When I Grow Up" by The Pussycat Dolls and I can't stand that song. There's just nothing to the chorus. It's a weak song IMO.
3. Make Me - 5/5 I agree somewhat with the sentiment that this doesn't necessarily represent the sound of the album. However, I do think it's easily one of the strongest tracks and was still a good choice for a single IMO. I really like it so much better than what I first heard it. It has a nice chill vibe, nice vocals, nice production, even the rap is good. The "oooh" hook reminds me of her old BOMT and Oops days, it has this sort of '90s pop sound to it. It might be my favorite off the album.
4. Private Show - 3/5 Ugh. WTF is this mess? As a song itself, it's okay enough, but the production is horrible! WTF did they do to her voice? She sounds like a fucking chipmunk on acid or something! It was almost like they missed parts of editing in this and forgot to master it or something. It sounds really weird against all the other tracks, like there is some inconsistency with the mastering or something. The whole thing is just weird, like the music doesn't quite match the song, and honestly I find this song just really annoying to listen to. Sorry Brit, love the perfume, hate the song.
5. Man on the Moon - 4/5 It's okay, but a bit forgettable maybe.
6. Just Luv Me - 4/5 Same. A bit forgettable, they could have done more with the chorus.
7. Clumsy - 5/5 One of the best and strongest tracks on the album and my personal choice for next single. I think it's so good and really reminiscent of some of her older stuff like In the Zone and Blackout days. It reminds me of like an '80s Madonna song or something. This is what the whole album should have sounded like IMO. It actually has a strong hook to it and solid beat. This is my other favorite.
8. Slumber Party - 4/5 At first I wasn't feeling it but I got into it the more it went on. Very interesting sound and lyrics. I can envision this one growing on me more.
9. Just Like Me - 4/5 Again, very interesting sound, and one that I liked a lot. I just wish they had been more creative with the chorus. Repeating the same thing over and over doesn't make it catchy.
10. Love Me Down - 5/5 This was another one that grew on me the longer I listened to it. It's actually quite catchy and has a memorable hook.
11. Hard To Forget Ya - 3/5 Probably my least favorite song on the album and that's even including the disaster Private Show. The chorus just sucks, honestly. And there is a portion that sounds exactly like "I've Had the Time of My Life" but I'm guessing that wasn't done intentionally and it would have been so much cooler if they had sampled that song and tied them together. That part just bothers me so much. It won't be hard to forget this song.
12. What You Need - 5/5 Whoa now, THIS is what I'm talking about! She really tried something different here and her vocals sound really good, really confident. THIS is a song!
Bonus tracks:
13. Better - 4/5 One of my favorites.
14. Change Your Mind - 4/5 Very interesting Latin sound. She does it well.
15. Liar - 5/5 Another strong one. One of my favorites.
16. If I'm Dancing - 5/5 I liked this one a lot too, very nice chill sound.
17. Coupre Electrique - 4/5 Interesting that it's all in French. I have no clue what she's saying but the sound is interesting.
I would have taken out Do You Wanna Come Over, Private Show, Man on the Moon, Just Luv Me, and Hard to Forget Ya and replaced those 5 with the bonus tracks. I think all the deluxe tracks are way better.
My choice for next single is Clumsy, but I think it will probably be Private Show to go along with the fragrance.
Standout tracks: - Make Me - Clumsy - Slumber Party - Just Like Me - Love Me Down - What You Need - Change Your Mind - Liar - If I'm Dancing
Worst songs: - Do You Wanna Come Over? - Private Show - Hard to Forget Ya
Overall rating: 3.5/5
Albums usually take time to grow on me though so maybe the more I listen to it the more I will like it.

Clumsy sounds disgusting to me. Maybe because I hate those "crowd's screaming" and get tired of it due to AL album... And I don't like the fact it added so many layers of vocal even just a prechorus. Imagine if there is one track of vocal, the prechorus and chorus sounds like nothing
My fav so far is Man On The Moon, her voice really worked out on that way ~

I've been a fan of Britney since 'Baby One More Time' came out, but stopped buying her CDs after her 4th record (have some old concerts on DVD too) as I didn't like the newer albums anymore - but I never left her behind me (she was my first idol ever and 'Crossroads' is still my fav movie). I even still have my Britney folder with magazine stuff and posters.
Some weeks ago I just decided to buy the 'Femme Fatale' DVD - and the Deluxe Version of 'Britney Jean' - vocally, I think, it's her best album. Today I will buy 'Glory'. I listened to it on spotify. It's a nice record, nothing super special, but fun. Also ordered 'Blackout', 'Circus' and the 'Femme Fatale' album now.
I would love to see her live one day as I never did, unfortunately. I don't like her latest TV performances much, but her concerts seem to be great from what I can see on DVDs or YouTube.
BRITNEY MOOD!!!

'If I'm Dancing' is incredibly good! Also 'Do You Wanna Come Over?'. There's actually no song on 'Glory' I skip.
Hope there will be tour dates soon...

I used to be a huge fan of her, just like every young girls I guess, she was my idol, I wanted to be like her and look like her Then Avril became my principal interest in 2003/2004. I stopped appreciating Britney's music in 2007 when Gimme More single/ Black Out album was released. I would have loved to go to the Onyx Hotel Tour and to The Circus Show, in my opinion these were her best tours ever, I know she uses playback most of time but she's a good performer during her tour. I still have lots of respect for her, she seems to be a really nice person in real life and she's been through a lot of hard times, I'm glad to see she's feeling much better now. As for her new album, it is everywhere now and here it has nice reviews, and people keep saying that it reminds them of her older stuff, which makes me wanna listen to her again.

She's been doing a Vegas residency for the last 2 years and I think it's continuing into 2017. I doubt she will be doing a proper tour for this album. Edit: Just read on Wikipedia Piece of Me is scheduled to end in February 2017. But I'm not sure I see her picking up and going on tour right away after that. Maybe summer 2017?

I actually just got an email from her team saying more dates have been added into the Vegas residency extending into May 2017. To my knowledge there are no plans for a DVD but you never know.
