Mine was pretty nice, our whole family gathered and even my father visited us. We also have this Bulgarian tradition where we bake a type of pastry called banitsa and we put different fortunes and a coin it. If you get the coin that means you'll have lots of money in the upcoming year and this time I got it! So anyways, how was your Christmas?

Mine was really nice too. I celebrated it with my family, twentyish Slav grown-ups trying not to get drunk in front of the children before midnight (except me, I don't drink). We had a gargantuan dinner, the only kazakh meal present was some 'baursak', it's an even fatter version of the doughnut.. and some of us went to the Church afterwards (I didn't, too tired).
Btw, I looked for the 'banitsa', it looks yummy!
And also, what did you get for Christmas ?

This Christmas was quite different for me than years past since I had to work on Christmas morning (not happy about that!) As some of you might know, I work as a production assistant for a Catholic TV and radio station so we were assigned to film the Christmas Day mass at a large cathedral in the city (in years past we filmed the vigil mass on Christmas Eve). I had to get up at 6 AM to be there at 8:30, then the mass started at 10:00, then afterwards we had to help pack up all the equipment which took FOREVER, then finally we left at about 1 PM, I arrived home at 1:30 PM as my family was eating dinner. My favorite part of Christmas has always been opening gifts in the morning in my pajamas with my family and I didn't get to do that this year. :/ The funny thing is that my boss was trying to be all impressive and be like "We're doing the Christmas Day mass this year to keep more in spirit with the day" and the cathedral was practically empty! Hahahahahahah!!!! So maybe my boss will think twice next year about doing it on Christmas Day and we'll get to do the vigil like every year before. So anyway, aside from my rant about having to work that day, Christmas Eve was nice. My family used to go to the vigil mass at 4 PM on Christmas Eve but it's always really crowded so for the past couple of years now we've been going to the midnight mass, except my church does it at 10:00 PM because midnight is so late for a lot of people and it's always really nice and a lot less crowded too. So before that my mom made pizza and chips and dip and we played board games together (I won at Clue!) Then at 9:30 we went to the "midnight" mass. I went to bed around midnight, got up at 6 AM to go to work, did the mass, came home around 1:30 PM, ate dinner with my family. My grandma and aunt came over and my mom made vegetable lasagna. Then we opened presents. My parents and brother had already opened theirs that morning but they waited for me to open mine and I gave them their gifts to open. We had dessert and then my grandma and aunt left. I was so tired I went to bed early. For gifts I didn't really get anything too exciting (last year my dad got us iPads, so clearly the bar was going to be lower this year ). My mom got me a few things I could wear for work or job interviews, so obviously nothing super exciting. She also got me a few bracelets and a gift card for a beauty store I like. My dad got us all some snacks and my dad got me a case of Angry Orchard hard cider, which he knows I like. I got a classic tin of popcorn. Other stuff was mainly money. I sort of wish I had put together a list of gifts I'd have liked so that people would have known specifically what to get me and I could have gotten things I really wanted, but I guess I'll just use the gift cards and money to go out and buy them myself. My friend from work gave me a SpongeBob Krabby Patties candy thing and 2 little stuffed toys from Finding Nemo, it was so cute! For gifts that I gave, I had given my friend a Darth Vader mug with hot cocoa mix. I gave one of my other co-workers a homemade soup kit in a jar and I gave my manager a nice card and a box of chocolates. As a gift for my parents I had our VHS tapes of my brother and I converted to DVD for them and I got my brother a tin of popcorn.

BogoGog24 , I admire how devoted you are.. working on Christmas Day might be a bit annoying indeed. I mainly got money too and I'm 'sharing' the PS4 as gift with my husband and it was basically the only thing I wanted this year. I'd rather give gifts instead of receiving. The majority of the presents I made were Star Wars goodies (thank you George Lucas!), just like you a mug but it was a R2D2 mug for Dad, a beanie with the name of the last film stitched on it and a Dark Vador mouse mat for my brother, some beauty products for my mother and for the kids I had to look after I gave them soft toy of characters from Ice Age.. I was uninspired on this one.

I was meant to be working until 4 but I asked my boss if I could work only until 12 so he let me so I could have lunch with my family because it honestly doesn't feel like Christmas at all if I don't go over to there's on the day because I've done that every year. Then after that I had dinner at my other families and opened my presents. I received gold angel wings that you put books in between and they look really nice. I got some mac makeup from my sister and money and some other stuff. By the end of the day I was really tired but still grateful I didn't have to work until 4 cause that would suck

It was alright. I had a nice quiet day with my mum, brothers and boyfriend and we had a huge dinner. I visited my elderly neighbour for a while also to give him his presents and wish him a merry Christmas. Today I had a second Christmas with my dad and tomorrow I will have a third with my boyfriends family which should be good.

I got a toaster and some socks for x-mas. Spent x-mas in South Wales. It still hasn't finished, got to meet up with other family members at my house in Birmingham and then some are carrying on to Leicester to see my brother and his young family. Spent x-mas with my parents who are now both very old. I will try to host it next year to give them a break but I've failed twice in the past already cooking x-mas dinner. It's not so easy. Quite a complicated x-mas. How was your Christmas ?

I had a lovely Christmas with my family. On Christmas eve we went to my parents house to see my niece and nephews and exchange gifts with them because they wouldn't be able to come over for Christmas. It was really cute. Then we went to my husband's parents house and had dinner and exchanged gifts. We got our niece a talking elmo doll that she was scared of lol. On Christmas morning my husband and I got up in the morning and exchanged our gifts and then we went to my parents house. My dad made crepes for breakfast and then we exchanged gifts with my parents. Then we drove over to my husband's grandmother's house and had Christmas lunch with his family. All in all it was a lovely day.
I got some doctor who dvds and a Fourth Doctor scarf and a few other things. I'm obsessed with the scarf lol.

I worked Christmas Eve morning and went to my sister's house at night until after midnight. We usually have a little get-to-together with my paternal grandparents at my parents' house, but this year it was at my sister's house. I thankfully didn't have to work Christmas, which was great because I did have to work this past Thanksgiving and missed out on eating Thanksgiving dinner with my family. So I got up on Christmas morning, ate monkey bread (which is kind of a recent tradition at my house), and opened gifts. My main gift from my parents was an electric guitar, which I've been wanting for a few months. (If Christmas hadn't been near, I would've just bought it for myself. My other gifts were small since the guitar was expensive. My sister came over in the afternoon and ate with us. We had a nice dinner.
I went to have a Christmas dinner at my maternal grandparents' home yesterday. In recent years, most of the family wants to stay in on Christmas, so we all go and have Christmas dinner together a few days later so that we can all still have family time as well as stay in for Christmas.

I've just hosted post Christmas family gathering and meal and it went well. My nephews and nieces loved their gifts from me so I'm happy. Guessed what would be good for their ages and got it right. A bit pissed off I got books on running an allotment. I fucking hate running my allotment, it's such hard work. Why do you think people invented tractors!! So we wouldn't break our backs digging over fucking allotments by hand!!

Spent Christmas eve with my parents and had a family gathering on the 27th. It was nice to finally be with my grandparents, uncle and aunt again and spent time with my little cousin. You can really see how time flies on this little sweetheart! We stayed for a few days, I got my hair cut, did some shopping, ate A WHOLE LOT. As for presents; books, CDs, chocolate, clothes, hair products (I love my aunt for that every year) aaand a Fitbit. It was so nice to see my family unwrap the presents I got them this year, put quite some thinking into all of it.
