My Christmas was very similar to yours. This year we celebrated Christmas at our house, so all my mother's family was coming, and my mother was all nervous because she thought there wasn't enough food- we are 14- which, eventually turned into a crazy amount of leftovers. We told her several times she was cooking far too much food, but she preferred to be sure, and some of the dishes just never reached the dinning table . The main dish was some kind of cake made with salmon, bacon and spinaches that my mother had had this summer in London- and spent the whole autumn trying to recreate-My contribution to the dinner was a kind of spicy mayonnaise, because my mother says I'm better than her at making mayonnaise . My family arrived on Christmas Eve and by then we had the table laid and a good fire burning in the fireplace-fortunately this year we didn't had to cut any logs. This winter has been particularly warm down here- which sorta killed some of the Christmas spirit- but that morning it frosted and we feared the weather would change. I played with my little cousin, who is 8 years old and totally charming. As most people were staying overnight because they live fairly far, I had to sleep in the basement with another of my cousins, and it was probably the worst part of my Christmas because it was cold-despite all my father's attempts to warm it- and the bed was quite uncomfortable so when I finally got some sleep it was like 4:00 in the morning and they let me sleep until 12:00 . On Christmas Day we had another great meal, this time roasted mountain kid. We lit the fire again and spend the afternoon together. And yes, we never opened any gifts because in Spain you get your gifts on 6th January- our Christmas last longer-
