Ian McKellen's description of Avril

On Avril's Wikipedia page, there's a part that mentions what Ian McKellen said about Avril in 2007:-


Nice flowery language, and a very flattering description of her. But no source is given, and I can't find the episode of The Late Late Show where he supposedly said it. I wonder if he even said it, or if there's another Ian McKellen who I've never heard of before...

What strikes me as odd about it is that he doesn't seem the sort of person who enjoys 'young people's music', for lack of a better term. He's 75 this year according to is own Wiki page, which would put him at 67-68 in 2007. I have the boxset of the Lord of the Rings films, and there's a behind-the-scenes segment where he said he got annoyed by the music the younger actors were listening to in their trailer. This was years before he allegedly said what he said about Avril. Maybe they weren't listening to Avril, or maybe their tastes rubbed off on him. But something doesn't add up.

It's not the most important thing ever, but it's bad Wikipedia etiquette to not use citations. I want to know where this came from.
