Nothing against Avril or her songwriting, but there are no 'happy' songs that motivate me or stop my negativity. When I'm sad or depressed I need sad music to deal with it and that sad music actually makes me feel good again. I don't know why, but music that tells me everything's gonna be alright is too shallow for my taste- cause things are never good or bad, they are always good and bad and you have to decide which side wins over the other. If I had to choose, I'd go for Freak Out cause the music drives me.

When I'm feeling negative, music of any kind is just an annoyance. I'll go for a walk or something.

If I had to choose, I'd go for Freak Out cause the music drives me. I feel like that too sometimes. Avril can build me up when I'm just sad or a bit low, but when I'm really depressed and aggressive and full of negativity I rather need something that agrees with me that I'm not okay and that everything sucks etc. When in a situation like that I hear something like "everything will be alright" I just get even more aggressive.

It's not saying goodbye that's hard. It's letting go.

I don't know... It depends on the "level" of negativity I'm feeling. If I feel really negative, then I'm going to listen to something more "aggressive" and "hard" instead of a " motivational/inspiring song that tells me that "everything's gonna be alright", because in that case such a song is not really going to help. But if I feel very sad or kind of depressed, then a song like those you mentioned is definitely somehow going to help me deal with it better. In that case, "Who Knows" and "Won't Let You Go" are the ones - of those you mentioned - that truly make me feel better and lift my spirits up.
