My favorite character in the series was Zuko the Firebending guy. He looked like an 18th century Chinese guy in the first season, but became a lot better since he grew his hair.

So, i can't see the series because i missed the series? Some series can be seen in a wide array of ages. This is not the case?
I guess it's kind of like Naruto. People over 15 might have goosebumps in some moments, but still watchable.
If you are willing to watch the series but don't have time, watch the first two episodes and the last three episodes of season 1. And then skip to the next season. If I remember correctly, the first season was not that important.

I would say the first book is a little childish- you don't get to the dark stuff towards the end of book 1 and onwards.

Going to try and ress this thread- currently re watching the entire series. Finished ATLA a few days ago and I'm currently on LOK Book two. Re watching all of ATLA and then watching Korra can be tough, as you rebuild an attachment with all the characters from ATLA. But I'm enjoying LOK again

A few weeks ago, I watched a "Top 10 Cartoons" video on YT and Gravity Falls was at a higher position than ATLA, I was like WTF?!. I don't understand the hype around Gravity Falls anyway. I think I watched 1 or 2 episodes, but I couldn't find anything special about it, maybe I should watch more. ATLA is still the best cartoon ever made and no, it's not "one of the best" it's THE BEST. Even if Gravity Falls has some dirty jokes or so in it, the animation is still crap. My eyes hurt when I watch it.

It's all a matter of opinion, but in this thread of course we are biased

I don't understand why Gravity Falls gains more recognition than ATLA. The bias are in the producers side too.
