My printer has stopped working. Need it for my eBay business. Says it's out of ink when I have only just changed the black cartridge. Haven't bothered to change the colour one because I only print in black and white. Maybe the colour one is empty so the printer now won't print anything? Ink cartridges are so bloody expensive. Don't know what to do. Don't make enough money from the business to warrant buying more cartridges.... Sorry about the rant(s).

Get a laser printer Yeah, I probably should but I'm so stingy and my eBay business just isn't worth the investment. I might just try and photocopy the pages I need somewhere but even photocopying is a rip off these days.

Yeah, I probably should but I'm so stingy and my eBay business just isn't worth the investment. I might just try and photocopy the pages I need somewhere but even photocopying is a rip off these days. The biggest problem I have with printers is, I don't print enough. The ink cartridges clog or dry up long before I they are fully used. When I had to opportunity to buy a brand new laser printer for $25, including shipping, I jumped on it. Laser printers don't use ink. I had never heard of the brand before. I decided to gamble since it was so cheap. It was a Pantum P2502W and I have been using it for a year and a half with no problems. On your behalf I, googled "where to buy cheap laser printers in the uk" and found a number of offerings that might interest you, including this one of the same brand as mine. Pantum P2200W Wireless A4 Mono Laser Printer. Different model though. I forgot to copy the link but, I found a Ricoh laser printer for around 31 Euros. I've paid more than that for some ink cartridges. So, maybe it's worth your while to do a little research. Thanks Bob, sound advice.

Thanks Bob for giving me the idea of cleaning up all the dried ink on the colour ink cartridge with some white spirit and a cloth so that it is recognised by the printer again. It had dried out and stopped working because it's never used and it's very old. Back in Business !!! WHOOP, WHOOP !!! (as they say in America)

As a kind of confession - I just thought, I never owned an AMD cpu machine.) And that was not so intentionally, probably, just happenned that way. Although AMD often is called a producer of heating equipment (or water heaters). PS. I wanted to buy i5-6400 last year, some B150 based motherboard (not a gaming machine), some DDR4 memory, thought it's time to upgrade (I have two PC's from 2002 and 2007 as I've said already), but then changed my mind. Will wait to those Cannon Lake thingies.) Or maybe finally will try AMD.) Anyway in my room where I am sitting is soo cold in winters. how long did your used intel operate for. seen a used 4690x with a asus M/B for $350.00 dollars and i have a liquid cooling setup sitting doing nothing and 2 spare cases also a bunch of interal hard drives . missed this. i can't fully get what you are asking me here, sorry, my english sucks,) but if you are asking how long my intel comps work, then I have two examples: 1) one machine is bought in 2008 year, components are mostly 2007 year of production. it's P35 pased motherboard and E4500 Core Duo CPU. It worked until august 2012 and then started getting into infinite on/off loops on the boot. BIOS went crazy. After reflashing BIOS and other masturbations it was brought to work, but It definitely cannot do suspend anymore. S3, you know suspend to ram, one of those sleeping states. Pity, because I always used it. It doesn't look as a BIOS bug though, because that should manifest from the very beginning. Looks more like a hardware issue. nevertheless, in the changelogs of BIOS versions there is clear evidence, they (GIGABYTE) had S3 resume issue (among others). 2) the second machine is from 2002, Pentium 4, Asus motherboard, I don't remember the chipset. Works fine. I am typing on it. Interesting, it reports that the maximum supported memory is 2GB DDR2, but I installed there 4GB and it works. Whereas the first reports support up to 8GB and when I installed 4 x2GB there, it got sooo slow and glitchy, that was my worst expirience with hw for all last years. It was very hard to detect that the reason is f*cking north bridge not able to deal with the memory right. For examlple symptoms were - graphics driver causing BSODs, high CPU usage etc. So as to longevity of intel components, the feeling is ambiguos.
