Sat in the garden in the sun with a cider, planning a last-minute Vegas/California road trip I don't know how much time you have but, there is so much to do. There is a whole lot of nothing between Vegas and LA. Boring drive. I'm a gambler so, that's pretty much all I ever did there. A few shows maybe. If you are going to do any gambling, don't let them feed you any free liquor. There's a ton of tourist stuff to do in LA. Personally, I preferred Universal Studio's park to Disneyland. Venice Beach is a must. Hollywood Boulevard and all that. If you had the time, I'd recommend spending a few days on The Pacific Coast Highway between LA and Frisco. Best trip I ever took. I hope you have a great time. Thanks! We have just under two weeks, toying with the idea of flying into Vegas for a few days then driving up to Yellowstone, or fly into SFO then end in Vegas. We’ve done Vegas before but I was 20 so didn’t get the full experience!! We did California on the same trip but missed a lot of the main tourist stuff as the people we went with had done it all a million times before. Decisions decisions.

I don't know why I assumed you were going to LA. If Yellowstone and San Francisco are definitely on the agenda, and you are the outdoorsy type, Lake Tahoe has great casinos and offers far more in the way of outdoor activities. Also, it's only 3.5 hours from Frisco. In Frisco you're obviously going to Golden Gate Park and Fisherman's Wharf. My favorite restaurant there is Alioto's. When I lived only 45 mins from Frisco, I regret never having gone whale watching. I did enjoy the Alcatraz tour. Hope I haven't confused you too much.

Will take a look at Lake Tahoe (and whale watching in SF - we tried to do this in Costa Rica but were out of season !) I’ve just been browsing all the national parks in Utah now I’m even more split on where I want to go hahaha, though need to decide soon as the price of the flights from the UK are going up every day! So split between going to LA etc and being a complete tourist or heading to the parks. This may end up being split over two trips
