Maybe just go for sure with MOTY and to quit MOTM. I agree with all that‘s been said so far.

If IFILWTD is going to be the next single, why sharing an older picture of her with the title Birdie? If she is really telling us Birdie will be a single, that‘s a super lame way to do so. If she just randomly wants to add a caption, it‘s also super lame. I don‘t get her posts or way of communicating (with us) most of the time.

Or maybe she's actually filming the Devil video. And it's something very artsy with her painting in the video and at the end you see the portrait of the devil. (Ahahahah never. Would. Happen.) Yes, that‘s it most likely.

"I'm the one who's got the prance" is one of the worst lyrics written by anyone in any song ever Also it's such a rip off of a Peaches song. Surprised she wasn't sued I remember reading that Peaches said that she had no problem with Avril drawing inspiration from her music and that she didn't think anyone else should have a problem with it either, because other people were encouraging her to sue Avril for copying her style and that she didn't think it was a big deal, etc. Peaches also went on and complimented Avril for doing well and said that she works hard a lot or something like that, to get where she is at in her career, etc.

that is because Peaches rocks. She doesn‘t care about copycats (not saying Avril was or is one).

The thing is that her career will be soon dead if she doesn't change so many things. Maybe she doesn't want to and she feels ok with what she's done till now, but idk, I think there is still a bit of desire to be sucessful, i don't think she wants do be a diva or too focused on material things, especially after Lyme. But she definitely made some modern pop songs for some reason...she pay so random guy to shoot Iceland landscapes so... She's still trying but with such a poor creative team and management. She's not able to handle her career alone, that's obviosu, she need help but I guess she's too comfortable with her friends and Phillip, so idk. I actually don‘t know about that. Even in earlier days Avril claimed that all she wanted to do was music and express herself with it. She never said she wanted to become famous or a superstar. In fact I think I do remember interviews back in 2004 where she stated that she hated not to be able to walk the in the streets alone but always with security anymore. Like others have already pointed out, she‘s always been rather shy and insecure. Her mother/family also didn‘t raise her to become a superstar. She did a couple contests and performances in her community, but that can‘t be compared to for example Britney‘s upbringing.
I think all Avril ever wanted to do was music and afford a living with that. I think she never wanted to become that famous. I‘ll go down deeper now when pointing this out, but I also think the fact that she moved to Toronto with 18 instead of NYC or LA speaks for itself. She never wanted the hype. Not that much anyway. At some point she gave up her residency in Toronto and moved to LA, but she wasn‘t like other younger stars that were happy about the spotlight right away. So to come to the reason why I‘m quoting you: I don‘t think she wants to get back to where she was in 2004/2006. I really do think she is happy with the way things are. She has enough money to live her life and do stuff that makes her happy and she is still able to create music. I don‘t wanna say I agree with this era‘s mess and how she‘s been handling things so far - we all know how chaotic and wasteful things get handled. But I don‘t think Avril sees it that way. I really do think she doesn‘t look that far ahead (which is dumb) and focuses only on things that make her happy. And most importantly I really do think she doesn‘t want to be a superstar anymore. By all means, her behavior says it all.

No chance in heaven or hell I could make my mind up about that.
I can put a list together of 5 songs that are very special to me and that are for sure in my top list.
Tegan and Sara - Nineteen acoustic
When Saints Go Machine - Church And Law
Alt-J - Taro
The Dead Weather - Gasoline
Led Zeppelin - Babe, I‘m Gonna Leave you

this was not my intention tho, just found it on Facebook, sorry for posting.. No need to apologize, really. It‘s an interesting picture with interesting information, real or not. I personally don‘t find them that far-fetched, I‘m sure they are not a 100% correct, but they do seem to give away some tendencies. I personally doubt that HAW sold better in Germany than it did in Canada, but who knows?
Avril however should consider - if she‘s going to tour - the sales properly this time.

I rarely hear such official, serious and careful tone from her speech. This is first time to me You could see that she was reading the text while speaking. That made it sound even more monotonous/serious.

Yeah, I know them and I have caught a couple tracks by them live at a festival some time ago. They are okay, but I‘m not a fan.

Blink 182 - along with Sum 41 - was a band that accompanied me through and throughout my youth. My favorite albums were Enema Of The State and by far their self-titled one. I especially loved the direction they were going with their self-titled album. Songs like Violence, Stockholm Syndrome and Asthenia. I loved the harder and more experimental vibes on this one. For me it was a promising development after TOYPAJ. Of course I was a bit frustrated when I had found out Tom had left the band some time later. By the time he rejoined the band I already had moved on to other bands/music genres, but I was still interested to know what they would come up with after that long hiatus (and cause their last album) so I gave their new sound a chance and listened to Neighborhoods a couple times. I didn‘t like their new sound though. It was like they had heated up old stuff without adding anything new to it. It was also way too pop for me. I had always loved Travis for his excellent skills and unique techniques, but even his hands seemed to be bored on that album. While other bands like Sum 41 kept on improving, Blink 182 seemed to be kinda stuck in their genre and old ideas in my opinion. It was the same old same old all over again and again. So I stopped paying attention to them after Neighborhoods. I just now spotted this thread and gave Blame It On My Youth a try. I don‘t regret to have quit them a while ago. Yet again old ideas boiled up without any developments or excitement for that matter.

The fact that Avril has to tweet about that just shows how immature the fandom is. It’s embarrassing, to be honest. I’m sick of reading fans on Twitter complaining about how BMG doesn’t promote HAW, that she could’ve been on top again and blah blah. Better get over themselves, because this is the way things are, and neither Avril nor BMG should be putting up with that shit. Tired of hearing them whine about DB not being given the video/promo it should’ve, about choosing something close to her heart that “will flop bad” so that equals “bad, poor taste”, about the way she chooses to dress, about the album not getting the promo THEY think it should. Are they fucking 10? Thank you for typing this down. My thoughts exactly.

I‘m not blaming anyone or anything for that matter. I wasn‘t calling out for action, I was simply stating an opinion.

It blows my mind when people say she or her label had to do an upbeat song after GF. No she does not. She's done plenty. Not just one on each album after TBDT but several on both GL and AL, thankfully just one on HAW. What she needs to do is finally EVOLVE. Do something new and innovative instead of recycling the same type of song. Who says that? No I think she actually never ever had to come up with an upbeat song. And I also think she shouldn‘t have in the first place. I know I‘m now typing down a very unpopular opinion, but for me the endless fall of her career started with GF. Yes, GF was a huuuuge hit, but not to most of her fans. What happened back then was that she lost a looooooot of old fans, basically almost her whole fanbase and only gained some new. Why only some? Because GF worked as a single and it pushed the album a bit, but that was that. There‘s a riff between her fanbase before and after the release of TBDT. Now a lot of fans say they‘ve become fans with or after TBDT. Way less fans are still out there now which have been there since the very beginning. I think if she had continued the way she had been going with LG and UMS she‘d have a complete different fanbase now. I am not saying it would be for the better, but I really think so. I have said it many times, Avril did lose respect in the music industries with GF and TBDT. Many friends of mine that liked her before suddenly claimed how she was selling out and that they wouldn‘t support her any more. Before that Avril was on her way to become a serious and respected artist. I don‘t think GL was a flop (chart-wise) because of her long break, surely that added something to it, but I mostly think it flopped, cause too many fans/people already stopped caring about her with TBDT. I think TBDT did do well because she gained a lot of new people buying that album because of GF (no actual fans) and because of her old fans that at that time did buy the album to support her. I don‘t care how unpopular this opinion is, I stand by it. And I know a lot of people that still tell me how wrong her career went with and after TBDT. Btw, I am also not saying Avril was forced to do so or anything. It‘s okay that she wanted to change and do something different. But it is what it is.
