Speaking of the Roxy Theater show, can we become obnoxious and find out who owns the recordings now and bully them into giving us the two unaired songs? It had unaired songs? I never knew that. Which songs were they? She performed I'm With You and Fall to Pieces and it was never aired anywhere, we only knew about it from people who attended the show.

Something that I was just randomly thinking about today but has always really bothered me are the lyrics in When You're Gone. "When you're gone, the words I need to hear to always get me through the day and make it ok, I miss you" is not a complete sentence/thought. It's like there's a word missing. It only makes sense on the final chorus when she changes it to "The words I need to hear WILL always get me through the day and make it ok, I miss you." Has anyone else ever noticed this? It has always really bothered me, to be honest. This has haunted me since the song came out, and I decided (maybe to shut myself up) that "I miss you" ARE the words she needs to hear etc. So it should read: When you're gone, the words I need to hear to always get me through the day and make it ok: "I miss you" so the colon is there instead of the word "are". I'm not sure if that's what she meant but at least this way, there is some grammatical sense.

I think you're right tbh. I think the whole jazz thing is crock- and every time she's asked to specify about some ~quirky~ music she likes, she mumbles and fumbles around giving an answer.

I've wanted this Not Gonna Run rumor to die for 15 years now haha. (Not Gonna Run was a registered song and the title appeared on rumored tracklistings for UMS) Before the Bonez show, in between the opening act and Avril, they played a playlist of pop-punk songs etc and at one show someone swore they heard Not Gonna Run. I was at the show the next night and at other Bonez shows after that and I was listening SO INTENSELY and never heard a thing and yet every few nights for a few weeks people kept saying they heard it.
ESPECIALLY now in hindsight, does it seem like something Team Avril/Avril herself would do? Put in an unreleased song on a playlist as a hidden gem? No. They don't have and have never had the range.

I was at the NYC show, too. It's such a cool venue that she would have had to really fuck up to make it not enjoyable!
It was a decent enough show, obviously highlighting old hits. Her vocals weren't great- she's lost most of her upper and lower range which is sad, but she doesn't seem to mind. TBH I'd rather she went back to performing I'm With You a tone lower if it would mean that she could sing the bridge painlessly, but I know that people here kept unnecessarily dragging her for that in the past, so here we are!
Cute moment with Avril saying "snow" instead of "rain" in Breakaway and looking happy about it.
Everyone was kind of happy in the end from what I saw last night- hardcore fans because it's been so long since she's toured and casual fans because they knew 80% of the songs. Heard someone screaming "PLAY MOBILE" which made me laugh.

I have never seen this performance before. New favorite acoustic from LG. Fun memory for those who weren't fans back then: This was a special for the new Oxygen channel, it was a Sarah McLachlan concert and Avril was opening. This was quite a bit after the TTSMU tour had ended and so everyone was hungry and hoping for something new (didn't happen). This was the first major troll moment that Avril repeated in New York during the AL era- there was a poll on the Oxygen website to vote for which cover song we wanted Avril to play- the choices were Basketcase, Fuel, a Police song, King of Pain and Knockin on Heaven's Door. OBVIOUSLY everyone agreed to vote for the Police song because she had been playing Basketcase and Knockin every night for months during the tour and we had already heard Fuel. The details about the concert at the time were sparse, we didn't know that her set was going to be acoustic. There were hundreds and hundreds of people on Bandaids at the time who voted and people were voting multiple times... and the "winner" ended up being Knockin of Heaven's Door. CLEAR fix.

Awww wow thank you for posting this. Back in the day, this was a super rare video. It was the first acoustic I'm With You performance we had in full.

Seems like resellers also made use of the presale. There are already plenty of tickets on ebay. Yeah, there's a shocking amount of NYC tickets on stubhub. It's a shame for the people who legit wanted tickets.

Got NYC tickets. Cute that the date is October 1st- I remember going to see her waaaay back in 2004 for the Bonez Tour and the date for my show there was October 1st as well, I remember 13 year-old me sleepless in anticipation for the date, so much so that I remember it every year. Other than VIP, NYC seems to be GA which is cool.

Does anyone know what her parts were actually from? I’d always wanted to see the actual interview. I believe it was material from a mini MTV Diary she did in the lead up to the VMAs. v.yinyuetai.com/video/h5/2489563

There's something WEIRD that went on with TBDT- the fact that Alone and I Will Be were not included is strange. Katy Perry alluded to there being a more complicated reason why I Will Be was left out, and I think that Alone was probably omitted for similar reasons. Maybe something to do with the Butch/Luke drama, but it's all very odd, IMO.
