I listened to their new single but still, after a couple of times it still hasn't grown on me... but the self titled album is also my least favorite, I start to lose hope that this time it will be better.

Well they wanted different. They needed different. Hayley is broken after Paramore almost broke up for good. Taylor the same. But he is literary the one holding it together. A new sound, inspired by Ain't it Fun. Which was an accident. It was an idea that came out wrong, but right at the same time  AWKIF, Riot, Brand New Eyes was all Josh. Paramore and After Laughter is all Taylor. |

[e]Nevermind, my question was basically answered after I finished the interview  I'm actually not surprised that the last two albums have been more poppish than normal, even though they're not labelled as pop. I was looking at all the songs Taylor helped write for the first three albums, and compared to songs without his credits, they are leaning or having hints towards pop. Conspiracy, That's What You Get, and Playing God definitely have some hints of it but not enough that you can still tell that it's Paramore's original sound. I'm not saying it's bad, it definitely helped the band get more success and experiment without getting too much hate; and some of the experiment songs actually ended up being my favorite. I wonder if Taylor over does the pop hints on the singles though, because you can tell that non-single songs he worked on actually sounds more Paramore-ish such as Feeling Sorry, Misguided Ghosts, Renegade, and Hello Cold World. Sorry if I ended up rambling lol. |

Hmm, I actually really like the song and it has a cool 80's vibe which is always a plus for me. However, this song is not Paramore to me, I don't listen to them for this type of music; and I would argue they have been shifting in direction since Still into you.
As much as I like it..it's too much of a swing in musical direction for me. I'll probably buy it though.
