In my opinion, the ignorance of the writer about Taylor Swift is a reason for making FANDOM WARS. Because i'm really angry and want to punch the writer. (And the fact is that i'm very peaceful and i don't like violence in real world). About Avril Lavigne i'm agree. I can relate to a lot of her songs. And i can relate to a lot of Taylor songs as a "26 years old Male".

I've never really understood.
Just read this phrase: "i've never really understood". This person is telling us she/he is ignorant about the topic. He/she don't understand about the topic.
The fact is that Avril knows the importance of every artist (Avril tell Nickelback haters to grow up), and the importance and irreplaceability of Taylor Swift, and Taylor Swift knows the importance and irreplaceability of Avril Lavigne.
There is no need to downgrade someone, so your beloved artist could stay higher than other artists.

I think he/she was just saying they don't see what other people see in Taylor, they don't get why she is popular or why her music is so loved. That'd be a perfectly fair opinion IF they actually bothered listening to her music outside of a few singles, which it's clear they haven't. I used to not get the fuss over Swift either but then when I watched the Journey to Fearless documentary and started listening to more of her music outside of just the dumb fairytale love songs, I started to like her a lot and saw there was a lot more to her as an artist than what was on the surface.
I think, like Avril, Taylor's music gets dumbed down for the public when it comes to singles. Rarely, if ever, do any of her serious songs or deep or meaningful songs get chosen as singles. And if all people know from either of them is bratty pop songs like Shake It Off and Girlfriend without delving deeper into their catalogs, they just assume this is what they are like/what all their music sounds like. It'd be all well and good if they gave it a fair chance and maybe tried listening to a full album and still said "meh, not my thing," but it's really stupid to make such a blanket statement when knowing so little about the subject in the first place.

Well i agree with the author of the article/post. I don't get the whole "mighty swift" thing either. I had TS, Fearless, SN and Red on repeat. I was a fan to a certain degree. And i agree that you should listen to her albums and not only the singles. BUT as it states - it's not only about the songs, or the lyrics. It how they appear. What they sell to the public. From a young age. It's ok to grow up and change your style, most everyone does. And Avril did become the ultimate sale object with Girlfriend. And they tried again with HK -and failed- And this is my opinion - i feel that Avril has stayed true to her image most of the time. Her songs fit her "message". There is where I belive Taylor has failed. She has sort of kept her roots, but her message in her songs change from each one of them. And how the hell can a 5 y/o relate to IKYWT and Blank Space?! How's that even possible? I'm not saying a 5 y/o can relate to Hot or any other song by Avril. But most of them doesn't dress up like her, bug their parents to get tickets. Send death threats. Watcg tgeir idol "block" her own music, because it get stolen. Don't think it is ok when people doesn't adore you. And well fine haters gonna hate. But there Avril flipped the finger and don't care. That's were i see the differences. And it's ok to disagree. It's ok to have them both on you play list. But i lost interest and felt bullied by an artist after years of supporting her. And that's lame. I know. But so the story went.
