Who else here loves Gordon Ramsay? I love his shows Hell's Kitchen, Kitchen Nightmares, and Hotel Hell. He also has a few other shows like Masterchef and The F Word (which I've never seen). Discuss all things Chef Ramsay here!

Kitchen Nightmares is actually my favorite of his shows. I really love the whole concept and the format of the show was generally good. Unfortunately it was cancelled in the US awhile ago but they kept HK and Hotel Hell going for some reason. :/ Thank God for Hulu!

Maybe Kitchen Nightmares was expensive for the producers. But the episodes were great. I also see the spanish remake of Kitchen Nightmares, "Pesadilla en la Cocina" (is like "Nightmare in the Kitchen"). The chef is the spanish "Alberto Chicote".

Maybe Kitchen Nightmares was expensive for the producers. But the episodes were great. Yeah I think that was part of the reason or maybe it just wasn't getting the ratings that it used to. I know Hell's Kitchen is pretty cheap to make and somehow it still gets pretty decent ratings, even though IMO it has become very repetitive with the same formula every season and has gotten boring. But I suppose as long as people keep watching it, they'll keep filming it. Hotel Hell is a nearly identical concept to KN except with hotels (though it isn't as good IMO). For some reason Masterchef never appealed to me and I haven't watched The F Word yet though I know it's on Hulu so perhaps someday I'll check it out. Right now I am going through old seasons of KN though because I really miss it. And new episodes of Hotel Hell are on every week, so I watch that. A new season of Hell's Kitchen is premiering in September. Apparently Gordon broke his leg or something and has been laid up for awhile in a cast. And he and his wife were expecting another baby but it was announced recently that she had a miscarriage. Unfortunately a sucky time for their family right now I guess. :/

Although I do prefer the UK version as it is less dramatized imo I've never seen the UK version but I have heard it's less dramatic than the US version and I've also seen most of the first season of the UK version of Hell's Kitchen and he's like a totally different person there than in the US version I like that it was less drama, more focus on the cooking, no stupid Jaws music playing in the background 24/7 They must think we Americans are stupid enough that we need recaps of every 5 minutes and dramatic music with lots of fighting to be entertained. LMAO

LMAO LOL Yeah I think so too I did watch like one US episode and I really struggled to watch it I mean it's just a guy trying to sort out a restaurant, it isn't a war or anything WTF were the production team thinking?

It's basically the way all reality TV is in the US. They think American audiences love drama, drama, drama and that's true to an extent. But only organic drama, not producer driven or manipulated drama.

But only organic drama, not producer driven or manipulated drama. The US version is dramatic. Sometimes i think the restaurant owner wants to start a fist fight with Gordon Ramsay. But i think "Hardcore Pawn" or other realities are even more dramatic. The part of Kitchen Nightmares when Gordon Ramsay showing "Rotten" food to the cameras is a must of every episode. And seems that there are no salvation for the restaurant until the end. Then, Gordon redo the menu, and magic. Every person likes the food.

And the troublesome owners suddenly change their attitude and habits in the course of a few days and are super cooperative and normal

I became a huge fan of Spike's "Bar Rescue", so I looked for similar shows on Netflix. Now I'ma nightly watcher of "Kitchen Nightmares". It's cool to see how creative you can get when making food and how bad some people are at running businesses.

The episode 16 of the Sixth Season was something so surrealist for me. Anyone remember that episode of Amy's Baking Company? The episode marked the first time in the History of the series that conflict with the owners prevented Ramsay from completing the restaurant's transformation. A follow-up episode, titled "Return to Amy's Baking Company", aired as the season 7 premiere. And this episode was crazy.
