After repeatedly deep diving into Folklore this record is definitely my number 1 album. It’s just so damn layered and textured. It puts me into a dream state when I listen to it, like I’m being hypnotized by a wood nymph. She finally wrote the indie recorded that’s cooler than his.

I would love an acoustic guitar and piano version of the album. People are already making covers on YouTube. Some of them are really great.

I don’t think her voice has ever sounded better.

In Illicit Affairs, I realize now that the whole song is in her POV. She starts in third POV like walking herself through the steps of her Illicit affair. Then she moves on to first person towards the end of the song where she starts singing what she wants to tell her lover. It's like she was disassociating from the situation until her feelings take over.

Mine is that this is a commentary on affairs in general, as it relates to the love triangle triad of songs. But your idea is good. I think this is one of the best.

I like that theory too. Mine was just trying to make sense of the POV since it changes midway. It really confused me when she says you put his perfume on the shelf or something like that.
Another thing that I found funny is in Cardigan when she talks about kissing in downtown bars when in Betty they're apparently 17 years old. That's a Gossip Girl kind of teenage life lol.

In the UK I think legal drinking age is 16 though. Her characters could be possibly be British since she’s basically been fascinated with London since dating Joe lol
