It would be great if Avril could make the album how she wanted but just have Sony take care of the distribution and stuff. That way it's like she has the freedom of an independent artist but still has the resources of a label.
I certainly think and hope this album is gonna be better than AL and maybe even better than GL, perhaps like what she intended for GL to be but without the label interference. Will it be better than or reminiscent of LG/UMS/TBDT? Maybe, maybe not. I definitely think it will be better than AL though. (Not that that is hard to achieve ) At the very least it sounds like she has a clear vision of what she wants to do and hopefully it will be consistent throughout and won't be "all over the place" like AL was.
Do you think Fly will be on it? I would rather get a new song since Fly was released a year and a half ago already and I don't see any point in putting it on, but maybe if they did a different version with different production or something, it may be a nice "bonus track." It sounds like it would fit the theme she's going for.
YEAH!!!! That's exactly what I'm talking about. Some bands do this idependent+distribution deal stuff and they go on REALLY well. That would be a dream scenario.
And on the "Fly" subject: I want it to be on the album if we get a reworked version, cause as you stated, it will probably fit the vibe of the album, so it would be a great bonus track.
I'm just happy she cut ties with that crap producer, honestly. She may have reworked the production on Fly for the release, but the excessive fixes done on her voice were still there and sounded just as weird as the rest of AL.
.....I'm starting to feel a GL2 vibe. Anyone else? I'm cool with that.
Yes I think it will be a personal album like GL was.
Yes, and Avril hinted it a bit with her statement, talking about her disease and the "I can't wait to open up and share my heart with you" part. She's gone through a lot of things last years (breakup, disease, problems with label, possible new love), it's almost a must that the new album is VERY personal. It wouldn't make sense that she suddenly kept releasing songs about partying, "never growing up" and so on. Not saying she just only release "dark" songs, but the album should feel really personal. But after seeing her statement, I'm more confident than before
As for Fly being included, it would a waste of space. I'd rather another new song that an old, already-released song. And by the way, I hope they release proper b-sides this time; what they did for last two albums was shameful, recycling an old cover and not including any new b-side.

Jack and Bo 😊 I think are right on the mark. A song with the theme of "I've been through enough shit that I don't give a flying F$&k what anybody thinks anymore because yes I'm pissed and sad and worried and hurt but also, hopefull that the worst is behind me and I still love life" would be good.
If Fly is going to be on the album it will probably be a hidden track like Alice was after Goodbye. I doubt it will be on the album though as the copyright holders are different etc. She definitely has a clearer vision for this album. Goodbye Lullaby had a strong vision before RCA went and screwed it all up. Avril Lavigne was just a way for Epic to release something with her name on it right away. But this album, I don't know, I just have a really really good feeling about it being amazing, and being HER album.
