Maybe she will be singing the blues? That would be an interesting genre for her to get into.

I don't understand all the waiting. I hoped for the album to come out this year. But it seems it's gonna be like AL only the singles till next year.
Unless she surprises us again this weekend.

Rodney deleted his comment about hints... seems like a case of him saying a little bit more than allowed

Not sure if this has been shared or not, but Avril is mentioned a fair few times in this video. It's from the YouTube channel 'FBE' which is possibly the biggest reaction channel. It features Anne-Marie (British PopStar) reacting to songs from 2002. linkWhen Avril releases the lead from AL6, we should try and get this channel to feature it. They take suggestions and would normally have people react to older stuff from the artist and then play the new stuff before asking questions. Would be decent promo

I think she started the teasing a bit too early. If the song is coming out in two weeks the she could've posted that picture this weekend. But it doesn't really matter, we're getting the single at some point this month.

Would be decent promo I 100% agree, we have the fanpower to get our requests though. However, in the past they've reacted to things after there's been a few singles out so we may have to wait a bit, but since her comeback will be pretty big news I imagine they will

Is it silly that I'm quite excited about her seeming to have a colour theme for this album? She used to always have logos and specific colours for her albums but that tailed off after TBDT or wasn't as clear and it just makes me feel like she has really strong, clear ideas what she wants this era, like in the good old days

I am not too worried about the fact she doesnβt fit in with other current artists. That was the way her career began. Itβs not 2002 anymore and Iβm not saying sheβs going to have a single as big as Complicated was, but I do think itβs funny that people are worried about it when thatβs exactly the way her career started 16 years ago. She might pull a Mariah Carrey (or a Bon Jovi?), but I have my reason to doubt. Back then she wasn't exactly avantgarde, but she was somewhat of a novelty as a female rebellious pop-punk girl with catchy punkish and later post-grungish stuff, and with a good backing by the big boss LA Reid, she catapulted into the mainstream. Now she's 34, she's not old in any sensible way, but the bosses, the top dogs, the head men, the big cheese, the folk like Clive Davis, LA Reid, Justin Goldberg, and all of their 'satellites', they are most likely pretty calculative, level-headed, sneaky fuckers, so to say. They dislike to 'waste' too much of resources on artists who they see as "half burnt candles". If they find this fabulous, mega-potential, rapidly rising star producer, who'll be able to make (or help make) a sensational album, then they wont waste the guy on a collaboration with Avril, but will rather assign him/her to a young, fresh-outta-school girl with no reputation in the music mainstream. There's a reason why producers are often jumping around newly found super young talents, they are looking for the biggest cash cow around. As soon as Camila Cabello showed off her voice in a talent show there already was LA Reid there, standing with a piece of paper and a pen in his hand. Sure, the girls get their big break just like Av did then, but I think this stuff is somewhat detrimental toward music as an art (even though it is pop art). Yeah, industrial efficiency says these producers are making sensible decisions, but I'm also getting a bit of these 'Weinstein' vibes here, so to speak. Not necessarily the "I'mma do a sexual harrassment for lunch and a sexual assault for dinner" treatment, but I think there's quite a number of a bit nasty folk out there, who also massively recruit fresh meat because of their personal preferences. After all, there are some serious allegations around Dr Luke and Reid, both of who were also directly involved with Avril.

I think the last time she was able to carry her vision throughout an album was TBDT. There was no social media but she showed it on her making of DVD.
