So Iโm confused... I thought they were mixing? Did they go back to the studio to record some more? Mixing is done in the studio. ... but why is a new producer there? Producers donโt typically mix albums...

I want to believe they worked together a while ago but it was only discovered recently and that if she's recording something in the studio it's not full songs, only final touches and adlib vocals LOL I really want the first single before May.

Did people realize that Zaneโs band did blues/jazz rock? I thought they were more classic/psychedelic rock which I was okay with, but Iโm a lot more on board now after reading that! I saw them live almost a decade ago, and to be honest they were an opening band and I wasnโt paying them much attention...

Mixing is done in the studio. ... but why is a new producer there? Producers donโt typically mix albums... Generally speaking, the role of the producer is to supervise most aspects of the recording process. It might include writing and arranging music. The producer might hire the engineer, or engineer the recording themselves. Sometimes they sing or play instruments. The engineer might do the mixing or the producer might do it. A producer might even handle the mastering. Some producers insist on having complete control. Other times, a producer might be called in for a very limited role. I knew a guy that was hired to arrange and produce the strings for the outro of a very famous song by Grand Funk Railroad, 'Closer to Home'. And the producer of that particular album, was also the band's manager. Anyway, it's not at all unusual for the producer to be on hand for the mixing, or to do it themselves.

It didnt come into my mind that producers are not involved at all in the mixing/mastering. :/

For some reason I was thinking Serban Ghenea mixed and mastered UMS-GL and was the only one who did that, but youโre right... there are a lot of engineers across all her records, including many of the producers, so this makes me excited again ๐

My Wishlist: - 13/14 tracks minimum - Songs exploring new themes and sounds - A mix of upbeat, ballad and mid tempo songs (I don't want the album to get repetative or only fit one mood) - Bonus tracks for different regions/deluxe edition - B-sides which aren't just covers or acoustic versions or remixes - Strong singles that represent the album - Decent promo on TV, radio and in magazines - Interesting MVs - Some good live performances (Her voice is sounding great lately and I want to hear it live) - Also, for Charming to be surprisingly good (I'm not expecting it to be the surprise animated hit of the year but something people are pleasantly surrpised by. At the very least I hope critics praise Avril for it and it pulls her a little attention)
That's not unrealistic right?
